Mesmer...When will more information come out?

So, I want to be a mesmer, but so little info is out. Youtube only has videos of spells (but no names or any other info). Even the wiki has very little (and the official page is much less helpful than the wiki...). After people are able to post impressions and things from the betas (February 20th, I think), will there be an info spike on mesmers? Because other classes are really pulling me in while mesmers are falling behind...

I'm positive it'll be one of the things that will be heavily covered by the press. Everyone wants more coverage of the Mesmer.

Mesmer was the last profession revealed and it wasnt out for the conventions.

I agree that in a few days we should be seeing much more info on mesmers.

I'm dying for info on Mesmer skills, but i think beta videos/info will be most about PvP and Dynamic Events and big fights, like the Dragons.

If one covers absolutely everything about the Mesmer though, it's already enough. I guess that's not too difficult to happen.

It's people either playing in the beta or those that will talk about what came out of this weekend. I'm sure someone will cover the Mesmer. Don't you guys worry :)

Its rather anticipated info so I guess someone will cover it on Monday, properly a LOT of info. I can't wait for Monday :D

I have watched a lot of the available videos out there after this weekends beta,and I have to say this,I really hate the mesmers autoattack animation.I know I am very hard to please and I take this into consideration,but when it comes to an animation you will always see regardless of weapon choice,I must say it was a bold choice to make.In GW I chose the sex of characters based on which looked the best running,so I dont know what they were thinking making this overly dramatic casting animation,this will certainly keep me from playing him(even though my first character in GW was a mesmer).And yeah,this is my first post,and I made this account just to state my opinion on this very topic

Hi dude, welcome to these forums. Keep in mind that it's a beta, so things may still improve, but it's impossible to please everyone. There will always be some aspects of the game that people dislike. And if you do decide against the mesmer as character, then I just hope the game offers enough alternatives for you that do appeal to you...

Thanks Centaur.Im well aware of that its impossible to please everyone,but as a gamer that have played games since commodore and amiga came out I have a pretty good feel for what works or not,its like beeing a music lover that have music in his veins whilst not beeing a musician.If you check out the mesmer video put up on ign you probably see why I am worried about this,and the commentary on 04:15 just underlines my concerns: "Im not dancing,Im actually..This is my autoattack.",and clearly when you add duplicates of yourself that do the same autoattack animation it will get old really fast.The reason I post in this forum is my love for the first game,so please dont get my intentions wrong,cause this is me caring about it

I watched the video you are talking about yesterday and it never bothered me. But now that you pointed it out it does become distracting.

I guess if you dont like it you have 4 other skills plus utility plus swapping weapons.

Not all weapons number one skills look the same for the mesmer. If you use the 2 handed sword it looks different etc.

There are plenty of choices if you do not like that 1 animation.

e: watching the mesmer video with TB's wife again, she shows off all the attacks. Just to see what the animations look like.

Ok, there is something that does bug me about the mesmer that I forgot about after watching and reading so much gw2 stuff since the other day.

sword skills 2 and 3 are kind of the same but opposite. One is you leap in and leave a mirror image of yourself behind other is mirror image attacks you stay behind.

Ideally in my mind both skills should look the exact same so your enemy isnt sure right away which is you and which is the mirror image. But both skills look different enough to know right away if you have any experiance playing the class.

Maybe it looks the same to anyone but the mesmer themselves ... I would have to play the game and ask someone to demonstrate the skills so I could see it from a different perspective.
