I know it's still far away from release (possibly? I've heard rumors of early to late summer, so at least we are getting close!), but I really like how the necromancer looks in GW2 and I didn't want to waste game time trying to figure out a build that I like, so I wanted to see what you guys thought of the build I made. It's a pure MM, sort of like what could be played in the original GW, but this new game adds a twist: life stealing. I built the character mainly around buffing the minions, and life stealing abilities, then gave them the ability to steal life for me. I think I should be fairly durable with 14 life stealing minions, and the life stealing capabilities of the dagger. What do you guys think?

Here is the build http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en&code=3837004m4q4p8blna5a0uu04q5f5h5j5r5u60

P.S. I wasn't sure on whether to go with dagger cool down reduction or speed boost while wielding a dagger for the last major trait in blood magic. What do you guys think would be better? For both PvP and PvE, if you think it changes.

sorry it took so long to reply to this but i was also doing some extencive research into necromancer because i will be playing it as well. if you are looking for a PvE/PvP build i would recomend his http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en&code=3810004m4qih8bln3e00uua5f5j5r5t5uhehn

The staff uses AOE or area of effect skills that target more than one opponent good for large mobs of PvE and also protecting against multiple attackers in PvP. i also added the dagger as the secondary that way when life gets low you just switch and suck (life) also instead of the Bone Fiend i added Spectral grasp into the mix so you can pull a fleeing opponent to you and your minions attack them like with a single attacker in PvP.

with the traits i took off the Spite line and added it to the Soul Reaping so it boosts your life just a little more. also i added for the last Death Magic a minion skill Recharge reduction.

Let me know what you think and I hope it help ^_^

I don' t think you can summon more than one pet at once, it would be a little op if you could.

that' s why i' ll be playing mostly around conditions with wells and marks -> http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en&code=3810004n88cmh84uaeakkk05i5ph4h7hahghm

and when i' m sure my foes have enough conditions on them i switch to axe and i let the unholy feast begin :D

you can have one of each minion summoned unless it says more than one like summon 2 bone minions lol so yea you can have a lot.

They changed a lot of the traits since I posted the original build, so it isn't really that viable anymore haha. I like what you did with a lot of the traits, but with some of the new iterations, I am kind of liking using the scepter because of the easy bleeding stacks. Couple that with the malice trait and the increase in bleed durations in the curses line, and I think you could do some serious damage. I would want to keep the minion as opposed to the spectral skill, as I loved to play MM in GW1. I was never any good, but it was so fun haha. I think your idea for the staff is much better, as it will allow for the engagement of multiple enemies. Or incase your minions agro some things they shouldnt have. I kept up with the idea of taking off spite in favor of survivability, so I kept the points off there and left them in blood magic to get a little extra vitality as well as the ability to drain life on hit. Probably a little OP, but that's ok haha. This is what I ended up with http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en&code=3822g04m4q4p8bln100puf0565f5j5r5t5uh8hehn
