Is the Necro being left behined?

I am a lil concerned that the Necro is being over looked in GW2.

If you look at the things from the HoM (30 points), There is alot of things for Rangers and Warrriors, and very lil for the Necro. As one who has played a Necro as my main for the last 5 years, I am realy not seeing much for the necro. Now I could be wrong I have not been able to play in the Beta yet. Not asking for the necro to be over powered, just not forgoten and left behind.

I think the necro is a very good class. I would play it but im not big on the whole dead stuff. I will be playing a guardian and imo the necro will be my biggest rival. I mean the necro has an insane survival ability with the most Hp, and both shade and lich form which both have more hp. And on top of that his health sapping abilities. IDK about everyone else but i will definitely NOT be over looking the necro and in fact will be watching out for him the most.

Since necros can use 13 of the items available, I'd say no. First of all, necros can use axes and daggers, as well as staves and wands. In fact, every single type of weapon the necro can use, including offhands and war horns are in the HoM rewards. Basically if a necro can use it, it's there.

Edit: I should add between the necro having the highest health total in the game (shared with warriors) and the secondary health bar of life force, the necro is among the most powerful and versatile classes in the game. You should take a look at necrobator.com.

I can't see how anyone can think the necromancer has been left behind (and yes, my main in Guild Wars 1 is a necro).

Hi OnixPanther, welcome to this forum. As Vayne already pointed out, the necro has received a lot of love in GW2, and I don't think you have to worry at all that the necro will be left behind or forgotten.

Welcome to the boards OnixPanther - I'm new here and they have been really friendly :thumbsup: I'm looking forward to playing a necromancer as my first primary character in GW2 and I have to say that from my PoV they are'nt being left behind. I reckon that there will be a bit of a nuance to playing all the professions, and with nectromancer it seems to depend what type you are going for.

I'm liking the look of a two-dagger critter-summoner (mainly because the undead all look Geiger-esque monstrocities), but I get that my extra HP are there because I'll be vulnarable. Sorta reminds me of Diablo II ^_^

TY all for the welcome and reply's. As I stated "I could be wrong I have not been able to play in the Beta yet." That will be changing soon , i will be taking part of the pre-order, so i will get to play some in the beta.

From the sounds of it the Necro gets shown some love in GW2. This is a good thing. :) As for my play style, hhhmm well in GW1 I like the Life stealing, and most the time run a SS/Life stealing build. I look forward to see what i can do in GW2...

I'm curious with the survivability the necro is already getting if they will end up adding the skills that let you pass on dmg and conditions to the minions like you could in gw1. I always loved going into fort aapenwood and being able to roll over half the enemy team because no one brought enchantment removals.

I have been playing with the GW2 Skills Tool, and it is looking like the MM is the easy set up, Having the ability to make all of you mins steal life and give it to there master, and with about 14 minions giving there master life with evry attack, talk about a roving vampiric mob lol.

Side note: the GW2 Skills Tool is not compleat. For example All the skills for the Thief are not yet available.

Still trying to decide which traits would benefit me the most but For the most part I'll be sticking with what I have. I don't think they were left behind. They can use a lot of the HoM items.

ur right! being (what seems to be) the strongest pvp class 1v1 should definitely cause concern.

Eh i wouldn't worry to much. Necro does have highest survivability , so people will catch on and there will be more necros in gw2. I mean lich form is just amazing. I myself will be a necro +best
