I have for a couple of days now been spending some time each time I log on trying to find a group for this dungeon and everyone wants explore mode, is there no one in the game that wants to do story mode any more? Just got to level 62 and it seems near impossible that I will find a group to do this dungeon with.
Has anyone else had troubles finding a group for this specific dungeon? I feel like this is the only one that I have had problems with
I was in the same predicament. I had to wait in Lion's Arch for at least 2 hours at a time trying to form a PUG for this Dungeon and more than halve of those times after waiting for over 2 hours I gave up.
I had to go through draining ordeals like that for each of my 5 characters as each are over lvl 60 and need to do SE (edit: story mode). Finally all 5 characters have now successfully completed SE (edit: story mode).
I've run this dungeon twice in the last two weeks in story mode, to help guildies. Finding a helpful guild is always going to be better for finding parties for something like this than pugging.
This is true. But I feel like this happened waayy too fast. It's only been a few months, even SWTOR dungeons lasted longer than this before they turned into "You're only gonna find runs with a guild/friend group".Quote:

Dungeons seem like they're only there for people who really enjoy dungeons. But the people that really like dungeons are already doing explorable modes, so there's no reason for us to do story mode. Usually the normal modes for dungeons in other games are ran by mostly casuals, it just doesn't seem like they care.Quote:

Usually dungeon loot gives you an edge in the leveling process, it's usually not a required edge but it generally will make leveling a lot faster if you get a dungeon weapon or some armor pieces. That isn't the case here. The lacking need for gear to level seems to have hurt that part of the game. The global economy has too.
Items are so dirt cheap that if you actually want something better you don't even need to put any effort into it. Drop like 10s in the TP and bam, you've got a new mid-level set.
On Maguuma during around 7PM EST I filled a group for this in under 3 mins. Same case with all other story modes before this one.
The reason people are having trouble finding dungeon groups is because people want to run explorable mode dungeons, not story mode dungeons. The rewards for story mode dungeons vs. the effort you need to put into them to finish them simply isn't there.
Many people run dungeons for the rewards, not the dungeons themselves. This is true in all games. Explorable modes give you dungeon tokens. Story modes give you experience and karma, which you could also get from doing a few dynamic events.
I've run many story mode dungeons to help guildies and it's not that rewarding. What's rewarding is helping guildies. Most people who are into pugging aren't generally pugging just to help someone. They're pugging to get something done for themselves. There are obviously exceptions to this, but finding four of them on at the same time is a problem.
By the same token if you want to run the explorable mode, you can usually find a group pretty fast, certainly during prime time. Even in my guild it's easier to find explorable mode groups than story mode groups, which is why I end up running story mode so many times. Just to help people out.
The one small bright side is that anyone can do explorable mode as long as someone in the group has done story mode, so you can still run dungeons. You'll just miss the story mode, which frankly isn't the most fun anyway. From my experience so far, I've enjoyed explorable modes more than story mode (something I didn't expect at all).
In any event, unless Anet makes story mode dungeons more rewarding, people are going to not run them, because they have enough people to run the modes they want to run in the first place...the rewarding one.

A lot of people who may not need it on their mains will bring an alt etc.
I have run SE only once i actually hated it. The last boss encounter was great, but the rest of the dungeon, i prefer not to run again.
To help you out with finding a group for any dungeon, it can help if yo ugo into the zone where the dungeon is to find people to complete it. I found that to be a lot better, once i find atleast one person in LA i ask them to check in LA and then i zone over to the area and ask in that map chat for more people. Hope this helps if you haven't tried it yet.
