It probably counts all your characters, the ones you have now and previous now deleted ones. As it's your overall playtime, and that characters playtime is another line in "/age".

The graphics/requirements have raised alot! On my old laptop I could play gw1 on max settings with 60+ fps. And the same laptop ran gw2 around 20 fps on low-mid settings, and as low as 3-4 fps in...

IMO Guild Wars 2 is better in certain ways than the first, and the other way around. The story could've a bit deeper and more elaborate in gw2, but the social aspect and combat in gw2 is way better...
