Activity buttons are wacky..

So I notice that majority of the time when the cool GW2 activity button next to an area of a forum says there's new unread posts, it's actually wrong.. Not sure why this happens so often but I figure I'll report it.
Not sure if this is a forum issue or if it's a hardware issue so i'll just report it here.

I'll keep an eye on it... could be that it's somehow related to the amounts of spam that is posted and deleted.

I generally read the forums in the following manner in order to avoid the strangeness that is "unread posts":
1) Click "new posts"
2) Open up all threads in new tabs
3) Read tabs
4) Click "new posts"
5) If nothing shows up that I haven't read press "Mark forums read" else repeat from 2)



Edit: My experience is that after you have read something the "normal" way (i.e. clicking yoru way to it) you need to click yourself back out one level at a time for the forums to recognise that you have read that thread. It worked well for me before I started my current reading scheme...
