Water is invisible, and spell effects aren't showing up.

I just recently have had these problems, It happened to me when I starting getting the vista points in Lion's Arch.. I also can't see my spell effects for my pistol (The shrapnel)

    Here are the screens:

Here's there specs for my computer:

    AMD 8120 3.1ghz (3.4ghz Turbo)

    AMD XFX Radeon 6950 1GB

    16gb RAM

Its also worth mentioning I have all the settings set to the highest, I get a constant 30 fps and in most areas I peak to 60fps.. so I don't have trouble running the game... Any help would be appreciated thanks!

    P.S this game is amazing.

NOTE: When I turn invisible as a theif (as shown in the screens) I can't see myself as blur anymore... I'm just... completely invisable which is a tad annoying... as I've said before this happened out of no where as it was fine from around lvl 1~18

That looks like it might be a texture problem. Have you tried turning on high res textures and see if that fixes it?

close the game, go to your gw2 install folder, right click go to file location on your desktop shortcut should work fine
    find the file gw2.tmp
    delete it
    restart game
water is now back and the .tmp file is rebuilt, for some reason they neglected to flush the temp file automatically

I am having the exact same issue as the OP.

Tried this and sadly it does not work.

Also, interestingly enough, I have the same graphics card as op. 6950, but mine is flashed to a 6970 bios.

I had an issue like that too but it was on another game. Is your AA turned on? If it's on try to turn it off

I have the same issue and would love to find a solution for the problem. I do however not have this issue if I play in the morning where less people are online. Not sure if related or not.

Not sure about water but i had issue that i coudn't see spell animations.
at fault was that guild wars 2 and teamspeak overlay didnt play nice together.

    FIX:
    1. start game/select character
    2. alt tab
    3. start teamspeak
    4. go back to game

This guy has it right. I didn't even think of this being an issue, but closing the game, closing teamspeak and them opening the game fixed the problem right away. Good work.
