Thumbs up [EU] Seeking a mature, moderate, versatile, progressive & competitive GW2 guild

    What I'm looking for briefly
Mature, mixed fun (PvX, socializing, etc.), no-drama friendly members (occasional banter & teasing is fine, but no childish insults, aggressive excessive swearing, or attitude problems or ultra-sensitive attitudes either please), moderate yet progressive & competitive. Active, reasonably democratic, and ambitious leadership that wants to go somewhere lofty eventually & have a role in end-game & WvW.

Intro: My past experience and thoughts on GW2
Hi. I'm a WoW veteran who played from day 1 EU release, and led WoW guilds for years, then had every reason to wait for a "personal WoW killer", or an MMO that would just convince me to quit WoW for good. No MMO has ever done that for me, not GW1, not AoC, not Rift, not The Secret World, not SWTOR, none...until GW2. I thought that Rift was pretty decent, but it didn't convince me to even try it. Tried SWTOR and loved many aspects of it, especially the all-spoken quests, storytelling, dialogue choices, but combat simply felt like plastic and the graphics uninspired compared to Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 2 is simply everything I would have wanted in an MMO, and then some more. I love this game today, and looking for a GW2 guild to magnify this excitement and fun with a community of like-minded team members.

Breakdown of what I'm looking for
Looking for a mature, versatile (mixed activity: PvE, PvP, etc.) guild, that's moderately competitive and progressive, with friendly members (moderation about this can be demonstrated with the example that banter or teasing about "how short the Asura are or about siccing our Charr on someone" is fine, people who would get offended from such banter are not fine...there's always a fine middle line of moderation); and active, ambitious leadership that has a clear vision and wants to go somewhere lofty in the long run, but focuses on the short-term goals at hand, and that is interested in improvement & good change when an opportunity arises, and at the same time democratic with change, because I often have good suggestions for improvement and appreciate leadership that can discern good change from the bad, and is confident enough to take suggestions & votes from members regarding certain issues that can be determined democratically.

I enjoy PvE and PvP, but can focus on one of them for extended periods of time sometimes, so it's good to be in a versatile guild that almost always has people doing both types of activities. I'd love to join a dungeon run when I'm in the mood, and would love to also find people running the WvW battle or doing a tournament match. Not experienced with GW1 at all, and also haven't played the beta so new to GW2 too at the time of writing these words, but my years of experience with WoW and my interest in learning and reading the GW2 Wiki pages and so are helping me pick up things fairly quickly.

I'm competitive and love to win games, but if I feel that I and my team have done our very best in any battle, then I'm very sporty about losing; what annoys me in losing occasionally is pathetic performance or looking like pushovers, but putting a good fight and losing has its honorable sense of satisfaction and fun anyway, so I have no problem about smiling and saying "Hey, that was good fun; bet we can do better next time!" With that said, winning a lot would be the perfect status quo really.

I'm on the EU side, and although I would totally love to hear a familiar American accent and play with a team that speaks English fluently on the US side, I'm concerned about the time difference really (and perhaps lag or ping issues connecting from the UK), so would say that I should join a guild that is on the EU side. Currently on Gandara server, but assume that I can grab the free-transfer offer while it lasts, so hit me up soon if my description sounds like your guild! =)

Hi Rok, I like the way you describe yourself. I get the feeling you are honest and not afraid to state your opinion, someone I could trust, I like that. Check your PM in a few minutes because I am going to send you some info about my team. I hope it doesn't bother you that I am not from the UK or US. I enjoy having interesting conversations with people from various nationalities. Therefore, I try to improve my English every day.

Hi Travee. Thank you very much for your reply and kind words, friend. It's not a problem whatsoever that you're not a native English speaker; neither am I actually. I just studied & lived the American way for a while, that's all. And your impression of me is quite accurate, I'd say. I look forward to hearing from you, my friend.

    Hiya Rok! Awesome introduction thread you wrote there. Couldn't expect more from someone who lives in the UK nevertheless haha! Incase you haven't found a home yet, perhaps check out Extraordinary Gentlemen [EXG] - An international English speaking guild with people from all around the world. You could check out our website; http://www.exg-guild.com or read below for some additional information;

    Guild Name: Extraordinary Gentlemen (EXG)

    ATTN: Prospective Members!

We are a very active social guild of players from all over the world who have been playing together for years. With the appearance of Guild Wars 2 - EXG turned into a multi gaming guild. While we have one team focussing on Guild Wars 2, we have a giant community playing Dragon Nest together. Therefore alot is going on at all times in EXG.
We aren't the type of people to give up easily and call it "quits" by throwing in the towel. We won't tolerate PvP tea parties or dungeon mega-NAPs; we play on our own terms, and we have fun doing it.This is not a guild where you'll log in and nothing's going on. We play Dragon Nest and Guild Wars together, We call psychic hotlines and escort services. Even if you're not doing anything in particular, you can always come on teamspeak. This is where we reside and hang out most of the day. In EXG we feel that words can only express so much and that no one has to type full sentences while dodging an angry Minotaur. So we feel that Voice Chat goes a long way to get us to know one another better and to perform better ingame.

We raid at any time, farming items and leveling up guildies. We treat everyone the same, and we always make sure that everybody is involved. We strive for excellence, and we strive to win. We never lose our goal out of our sight,
creating a warm social environment to experience the perfect feeling of Guild Wars. If you can give us your loyalty and the best that you can be in raids and PvP, we will be sure to take care of you and make you a part of our family. At the end of the day, and at this point in the MMORPG scene, would you rather sit in a guild with 100 people, not knowing or caring if you make a difference? Or would you rather be in a guild taking on the odds and making an impact?Up untill now, this is only the beginning. Being a Member of EXG grants endless possibilities. We give our members the oppertunity to grow inside the guild. This means they can get promotion in the ranks. This may vary from forum Admin to Ingame Officer. Due our large community and the high offer of content, alot of things needs to be done. We occasionally add careers inside our crew which helps you develop skills you can apply in real life aswell.

As we have mentioned before, we have alot of content circling around inguild. We have the typical Guild Events customized by our members and our members needs. A large forum with dozends of sections and topics where you can discuss, talk and spam the area. The forum has alot of features to play around with, to keep forum posting interesting. Not to mention our very own Guild Bar called Team Speak where our members reside. Also our website who gets a weekly update to stay ahead of any other guild providing the best content a player and member needs to know.

Ofcourse we do understand that you might be very hyped about EXG right now. So are we! Due this, we are happily inviting you to our homebase at http://www.exg-guild.com . Feel free to join the forums and join in our community. Ofcourse, while you are at it, post an application aswell so you can join our community and discussions right away!

    Kind regards, EXG Crew
