Thread: DCUO going F2P?

I'm actually playing through with 2 characters at the same time... one hero, one villain... just to see the different story lines. I have the impression that the choice of mentor doesn't really change much except for the initial quest... they all seem to come together quite fast. But from the looks of it, I'll just finish the stories for both (main + side quests), and then abandon the game again.

Yeah, largely the game's appeal for me is playing with people I like. There's still content that I am artificially locked out of until my gear gets better, and that's just dumb seeing as how I actually play my controller rather well and have no issues keeping people's energy up.

I dunno. I don't want to bash the game, open world PvP is still a lot of fun, but I'm just not hardcore enough to be really viable, lol.

It's a good MMO now that it's free. I wouldn't have bought it full price, but I did get 2 characters to lvl. 30.

It doesn't hook me to it's world, but it's way funner than Wow.

DCUO is a game that can only keep someone interested for a few months unless you are really into a slow grind. Once you hit level 30 you have instances and raids but they are so few that you only get a few of them to do a day because you get loot locked after you complete them, the raids loot lock you for a week at a time. It is also the most buggy game I have ever played and they have no sense of balance. After playing awhile you get the sense that they make a certain profession op so that people will pay real money to switch to it and then nerf it a couple months later and make something else op. It's sad because that game has more potential than anything else I've played to be the best MMO out there but their devs seem determined to ruin it. I'm just glad that GW2 is finally closing in on it's release date, I've been waiting for this for years.
