With so much time before the release of GW2 and so many guilds popping up already, I figure I have plenty of time to find what I'm looking for. As the thread title states, I'm looking for a guild that's looking for a web master/designer/tech guy/etc.
Real quick on what I want to do:
Provide/maintain the guild website/forum/voice server (TeamSpeak3) (all of which are on an existing dedicated server that has been running for several years)
Why do I want to do this?
As much as I enjoy games and the unity of guilds/clans/etc., I enjoy the tech side of things; if you have ever enjoyed putting up a website and keeping things "fresh" you understand. If you haven't, you can ask me why it's so fun privately. Another piece to this is that I don't like how focused guilds have become on utilizing "website-in-a-box" services that provide everyone with the same look/feel, and no reasons for anyone to say "that's refreshingly different".
What I'm not looking for:
I'm not looking to become someone's trained monkey. While I am certainly open to putting together something that we agree upon/truly resembles the guild, I'm not offering to pick up your guildlaunch/enjin/whatever site and maintain it for you. I'm also not interested in any kind of guild leadership; I would be doing this as a member for the guild, not as a leader of the guild. I've been there, I don't have time for it, but thanks for the thought.
Basic Ideals of the Guild:
• Adult-Oriented A mature, friendly, open-minded, and laid back environment with people 18+ who don’t necessarily care about being “PC” (being able to joke with one another does not mean open to disrespecting one another)
• Consistent Playtimes: I will primarily play during the evenings on the east coast (6:00pm-11:00pm EST block)
• Serious Tone, Without Sacrificing Fun: I see myself as a casual/hardcore player who views consistent efficiency being more productive than hours of inefficiency.
• Valuing/Respecting Fellow Members: I want to find a guild that has members who value the company of others and consider “game friends” an important piece to their online gaming experience.
If you're interested and have questions for me, please don't hesitate to send a private message.
Just as a final note: I don't currently play GW1, but if your guild already exists in GW1 and you could use the website sooner, I don't have a problem putting together something with a GW1 theme.
Thanks.
