Hey Bridger, welcome to these forums... and cool podcast! With regard to endgame... don't rule out the dynamic events! There will be plenty of ever changing dynamic events to do at level 80. It's not just dungeons! ArenaNet have stated that right from the moment the game is released, they will (continuously) be adding new dynamic events to the game.
Plus, with the sidekicking system you can always do dynamic events in other areas of the game, or redo other dungeons.

As for raids vs dynamic events... I hope that higher level dynamic events will actually be more challenging and require more cooperation than the low level ones. We've already seen that boss fights like Tequatl require people to take on different tasks to get any damage in or to shield others so that they can do damage. I hope (and expect) that this amount of required cooperation will increase at higher levels. Dynamic events do not have to be created in such a way that any random group of people can successfully finish them. There is no shame in dynamic events that require high level teamwork to even have a chance of success at all... and there is no shame in dynamic events failing even though the people tried hard. In fact, dynamic events need to fail on a regular basis, to keep them dynamic. If the centaurs never even get to attack the village because the players always succeed at the event where those centaurs leave home and head for the village, then the rest of that area could become very boring. If you want to keep the game dynamic, then on average each dynamic event needs to succeed/fail in approx. a 50/50 ratio. Which means that there can be plenty of challenge in the large scale higher level events to see them as the replacement for raids.

Nice discussions. I like that devil's advocate thing you've got going there.

My own take on the endgame/pvp discussion:
I don't like pvp. I never did get into pvp in Guild Wars, I don't play pvp in any other games, and I don't really think I ever will get into the competitive pvp in Guild Wars 2, although I do want to try out WvWvW. Why? I don't have 1 competitive bone in my body. I like solo RPGs, I like story development and character development, I like being in a group where I can help other players reach those same goals. But I never did feel the need to 'beat the other player' - I don't have it in RL, I don't have it in computer games. So (to jump to your other point)... if there ever comes a time when most people have abandoned dynamic events and moved on to WvWvW, then I'll still be in the pve zone, helping out those who do want to do the events.
In addition, ArenaNet has stated that they will continously keep adding new events to the game. I do want to try every single event and see the results of every single outcome in the world. Even in GW1, over 6 years after its release, I'm still playing different alts and running through the same old quests. GW2 will only make this more exciting, as you never know exactly what state a zone will be in.
