Guild Wars 2 Headquarters is an online social networking community with forums and more. GW2HQ was started with the idea to unite Guild Wars 2 gamers and guilds offering the ability to share GW2 related videos, screenshots, and stay connected through networking with other GW2 enthusiasts.
GW2HQ is more then just a fansite with forums. It is a place to participate in all things Guild Wars 2 related:
- The Blog section is a new feature allowing members to share their articles, news, reviews, creative works, and RP stories.
- The Polls section allows members to vote on a wide variety of GW2 topics and comment on those results.
- Albums are a great place to share GW2 in-game screenshots, artwork, personal photos, or others.
- Groups give the members an opportunity to connect within the GW2HQ community relating to similar topics of interest be it guilds, social groups, fansites, or any other groups of interest.
- The video section is the place to share your YouTube videos, or any videos you found relating to Guild Wars 2 be it video blogs, interviews, trailers, reviews, gameplay or any other topic related to GW.
- Finally the forums is the place to gather for discussion about all things Guild Wars 2. From PvE to PvP to Crafting, Race or Profession discussion etc.
Members always stay up to date with the community wide "What's New" news feed while commenting and liking different actions members are involved in within the GW2HQ social network. Guild Wars 2 is a new type of social MMORPG, and it's only fitting that the game deserves a social network /fansite that offers similar social aspects to it's gamers!

Ideally, members who would want to stay in touch with other people from GuildWars2forums would do so here. I don't think it's our purpose to close shop and move all our members and discussions over to the GW2HQ. But by all means feel free to start a GW2HQ community here and bring over other GW2HQ members...
I think JohnnyV's purpose was to show clearly that he is there representing the GW2Forums, and advertising our forums a little for those who may be interested in joining here as well... just like you are advertising the GW2HQ here. I don't see any problems with people being member on both sites, but neither of the two should be intended to draw people away from one community site and to the other one... as Marz's statement implies.
I don't think Marz ment to draw folks from your site. He was just trying to let you know about our groups section is all. (The group section on gw2hq is how guilds/fansites recruit one another) Feel free to make an account with what ever name you please. Hope to see you there!
That was not my intention at all, and apologies if it came off as that. There have been other fansites creating their own groups on GW2HQ and inviting people to join them. I was making a suggestion that may have come off the wrong way. Sorry for the confusion.
