Thief invisibility question

So far i have read that race does not matter on which profession you pick but i have also read that the thief can't turn completely invisible. But if the theif can't turn completely invsible then race matters. For example if your an asura and your body looks camflouage its going to be much tougher and smaller to see, when on the other hand the charr is going to be a bigger camoflauge area where him/her is going to be much more visible when looking for a camoflauge thief. If the thief can turn completely invsible plz tell me because that would be great and race wouldn't matter but so far i have read that the thief can't turn completely invsible.

This is what lead designer Eric Flannum said about this:

To friendly players the thief looks very much like the predator effect that you [=the interviewer] mention. To enemies, stealthed characters are invisible.

Initially they also stated that stealthed characters would be revealed for a short flash when they took damage, but apparently that has been changed lateron and is no longer the case. Stealthed characters will only be revealed when they start attacking, or when the stealth skill (which has a fairly short duration) ends.
