Back up and reinstall

I like to periodically back up my stuff. With GW2, is it possible to just copy the GW2 folder over to, say, an external HDD and that's all I'll need?

I'm also thinking on how this would work when I upgrade my PC - is it a simple case of copying the game from the external HHD back to the new PC? I'm hoping it won't need a re-install from the discs and then another almighty patch.

Probably with a simple copy-paste, it will work. But I always suggest to reinstall any games if you wish to avoid issues.

Yes, you can just copy your existing folder (the one with the gw2.exe, gw2.dat and gw2.tmp files) to a backup medium, and from there either back to your current PC, or to another one.

Don't forget to also back up your screenshots folder, if you took any!
