Thread: Has anyone finished Twilight Arbor Story Mode?

(spoilers) Has anyone finished Twilight Arbor Story Mode?

I've tried it twice now with 2 different groups, the entire dungeon is around the same difficulty as Caudecus's Manor except for the final fight.

    Spoiler free:
With both groups we were barely able to drop a single one of the bosses, and couldn't do nearly enough damage to prevent the res. If we managed to stay alive long enough for that, we would die shortly after. Most fights we weren't able to down a single one before wiping.

    Spoiler:
The first few attempts we tried killing Zojja first, Mr. Sparkles dies fairly easily to AoEs, and Zojja isn't too hard either. But then trying to kill Faolain we end up wiping due to Rytlock one shotting everyone.
After we did that a couple times we read you should kill Eir first instead. So mostly the same thing, Eir finally dies, target Faolain, either we don't do enough DPS fast enough and Faolain resses Eir, or Rytlock starts bouncing around killing everyone.

The most frustrating part is getting 1-shotted by Rytlock. From personal experience, Eir will snare me, and then suddenly Rytlock will come flying across the room and I'll be dead. No wind-up animation that you can dodge, just boom, dead. The guides we saw say to get a thief or something to kite Rytlock during the entire fight, but that never worked. Rytlock would always switch targets and start killing people off, or Eir would snare the thief multiple times and Rytlock would catch her.

It's really frustrating that this fight is so difficult in story mode. I understand explorable mode being difficult, and requiring above average coordination and communication, but it seems like this dungeon can't be completed with a PUG, you have to have people on voice comms to get all the timing and organization down.

So, has anyone finished this dungeon? Were you in a PUG or was it with your guild with voice com? If so, what order did you kill the bosses in? I really want to finish this dungeon, but after spending hours in it I have nothing to show but a really big repair bill.

Finished it in a PUG. Took about four wipes before we managed to down Rytlock and deny him the rez. Then they crumbled on our next go.

Wait, so if you manage to deny the res as soon as one of them drops, they don't ever get back up?

So basically just kill Rytlock first, deny the res, and then easy mode?

Yeah, we wiped soon after whatsherface was driven back, but Rytlock never got back up.

what we did was to stay in the small path just before the cavern/cave and lure them one at a time. if every they did come, we just dealt with it. having to fight at least 2-3 of them is much much better than fighting all 5 at the same time. It was kinda weird tho, i though it was the boss lady who rez them. coz one time we downed rytlock but he came back up again. the area with poisonous spiders are actually i feel much harder, especially for a first timer.

We killed Eir first because she was oneshotting our squishies (there were several of us, lol). But yeah, that's the general idea. You just have to do enough damage to Faolain to get her to stop rezzing. Imo opening up with more blinds (we didn't do this, but should have) would have helped right out of the gate.

EDIT: Rytlock seemed to have a continual hardon for me so I equipped a staff and kited him around in between taking potshots at the called target.

Only boss we actually struggled with was the 2nd one, the guy with the spiders. In the end we all just kited constantly around in circles until we killed him.

Ive done it with a PUG and a guild group.

With a PuG we bumrushed eir, then focused rytlock until she then comes down and starts to rez and we hit her, then switch back and so on.

With the guild group we focused logan then rytlock then zojja then eir. Again just hitting her as she came to res. It actually went better despite focusing the tankier characters, because we were able to retreat backwards into the hallway, and when she came down to rez, she was in our frontline, and we werent having to wade back into the room to hit her.

I completed this dungeon story today with a PUG. We were 3 rangers , one Thief and one necromancer. This was my second attempt at this dungeon. The first attempt with a different group was a disaster. we kept dying at every stage and i had started believing that this is an impossible dungeon. The second attempt was a lot easier. I think the 2nd boss is the toughest one to take and the hit-and-run policy works against him. Also carry some condition removing skills and speed increase skill since the spiders he spawns are poisonous and u want to keep moving. We had three rangers so each with their pet was adding some extra fire power and hit-and-run becomes easy for rangers with long bows. For the final boss we took Eir, Rytlock, Zojja in that order. Idea was to lure them away from the group and focus the hits on one and avoid them from re-spawning.

In my elite skills i was swapping between [Entangle] and [Charr Zooka]. The Charzooka was usefull to do lot of damage agains the second boss.

The PuGs I've been with... People are crazy. I've tried it multiple times. People seem to not realize what certain aspects of bosses are. They just run around like crazy, thinking spamming buttons will help everyone. But, I got through it with a solid group once, and it was really exciting, and fun. Would love to do it!
