Has anyone checked out the new weapon class offered as a reward for doing the Winds of Change storyline? They're PURPLE! These are ridiculously difficult quests to do in HM, way harder than vanquishing, and pretty tough in NM, and the reward is a purple weapon. Pitiful. Does anyone know if ANET is planning on changing the weps to gold, and allowing you to dedicate them at your Hall of Monuments? Because otherwise the entire Winds storyline is a serious waste of time.
ArenaNet have no intention of changing these rewards. But do note that this isn't the end of the WoC storyline yet! So these are just intermediate rewards for completing part of the storyline. They have said that the rewards at the end of the WoC storyline would make people happy.
So I should hang on to the Ministerial Commendations, rather than use them now?
No, you can use them now. This is what John Stumme said about this:
I wouldn't worry about using your Ministerial Commendations now. We chose to add them in along with the MoP weapons so that there was an additional reward/something to work toward in part 1. There'll be a different method of acquisition to get the stuff that follows later, that remains appropriate to where the story is going. Hope that helps!
