Guild Wars 2 lends itself to alts more so than most MMO's from my perspective. The personal stories really provide an enticing reason to try out all of the races for sure. This game is great because it actually provides a more genuine reason to care about your personal journey.

I'm trying real damned hard to focus on 1 but I still find myself hopping on alts for several hours at a time which is why I have a few characters in the 20's.
Shouldn't be much more than a few days before I can alt hop to my hearts content.
My case of alt-itis isn't too bad - A 51 Ranger is my main. 35ish Ele is my...main alt. Level 5 Necro, and level 10 Thief. Thinking of making a Mesmer, too, but I'm busy enough as it is with what I got.
I have a 4 toons between level 7-15......and one level 62 that I have not abandoned for an minute of alt play since I started him. First MMO ever I was able to do that in!
I only have seven slots so far. Just how many can you add anyways?

Basically, I see how far I can get without dying, and one of my rules is that I can't go out of my way to avoid risks, lest it becomes and uninteresting/easy/boring thing (if the fire ele is up in metrica, I go try it, even though 1-2 mistakes is game-over). I'm not hardcore enough that I delete a character without retrieving their goodies though, heh.
