Show me your alt-itis!

I'm wondering how bad other people have the need to make alternate characters..

Right now (off the top of my head) I've got two level 55's, a level 40, two level 25's, and about 3 chars whom are 8-12. Yes, I purchased extra char slots.

The worst thing is that two of my chars are the same class. I found I like the look and feel of Asura Guardians over Human ones, so I made an asura guardian (lvl 25, human guard was 40). I found I heavily dislike the female charr voice, so my warrior whom was a lvl 55 female charr, I've rerolled to a huuge Norn male warrior, whom is about lvl 11 right now.

I got my sylvari Ele from lvl 13 to 55 in just a couple days.. I lover her to death, but once I got there, I felt the need to explore more classes so I just started a ranger last night whom I think is lvl 8.

Despite having like 9 char slots, not even one of them is a Mesmer.

TL;DR:
How many alts do you have, what levels are they, and was there a reason to your alt?

Not that this is a content, but I think I have you beat. lol I have fifteen character slots, spread over 2 accounts.

My highest level character is a 74 level human engineer, followed by a 30th level Asuran necromancer. Then I have a 12 level Sylvari ranger and a 9th level Sylvari mesmer. My other characters are very low level mostly 2-4th level, though, but I have a charr ranger, a charr thief, and Asuran Elementalist, a human necro and a I don't know 13 characters all up, with two slots unused.

The one benefit I can think of is that I'll know all of the classes inside-out by the time I get to lvl 80 =D.

Except for the mesmer, anyways. eww.

I'm currently considering buying additional slots, but am still hesitant; I've never bought anything on an otherwise subscription free game and can't really bring myself to breaking with this tradition.
I guess I could just delete the thief, as I don't really like this class, but on the other hand he has his own personality by now and deleting him would be murder...
But I need the space to give every one of the three remaining classes a try; I guess I just have to spend 30 €. And maybe I can even bring myself to playing an asura... *shivers*

I currently have 5 characters, but I keep deleting 3 of them over and over to remake new alts and start over again.

This is where I am. I have created and deleted about 46 goons to figure out I like female human Mesmer, Female sylvari ranger, and Assurance Guardian.

Had about 7 Mesmer variations before got a male human to level 34. Only to delete him for a femalehuman because I didn't like the way he ran.

I got a Female sylvari ranger up to 26 only to delete her, make 6 more variants of a ranger just to settle on a female sylvari ranger.

Now I'm going through the same issue with a thief.

I want one of each class and each race represented.

I have created and deleted about 46 goons

That makes me feel much better thanks - I thought I was bonkers after trashing about 6 toons. By this slow process of elimination am gradually getting to a lineup that I will stick with:

Lev 72 Charr Thief (male) - Ash Legion
Lev 71 Charr Guardian (male) - Blood Legion
Lev 51 Sylvari Ranger (female)
Lev 22 Asura Engineer (male)
Lev 20 Norn Warrior (female)

Will probably end up deleting my Norn Warrior and replacing it with a Charr (Iron Legion). If/when I get an extra slot, that will likely be for a human mesmer (female, since I hate the 'boy-band' look of the human males).

For some reason I only lose the compulsion to level a character once it hits the 70s, when I'm into the final trait line.
