    My SWTOR Beta!

Received my invitation to the SWTOR beta this week. I know many of you who frequent the site aren't looking all that forward to the game, but I can't wait. BioWare still hasn't let me down, in the 12 years I've been playing their games.

I'm not going to roll the class I plan on using when the game launches (smuggler), so going off the beaten path. Just hope the servers stay up, and running.

Nice Johnny, hope you have fun.

Must say i've not really looked into it much, but i can't imagine it being bad. Maybe i'd have given it a better look if not for waiting on GW2.

Got my invite to play Fri to Sunday myself. I'm not too in SW as a game really but I do love beta testing games. Look for the name Myou on there if you have that time slot Johnny...and anyone else that gets in on the beta during this time.

I've played the beta and can say you'll likely be happy with it. I might try it again this weekend since a buddy of mine received a weekend invite as well.

Yeah It's a good solid game, I've had a lot of fun with it - but in the end, Guild Wars 2 has so much more to offer.. There's just no competition. Definitely worth playing the beta though, gives you a fun comparison to 15$ a month vs. What we'll have for no monthly cost. =D

I'd have probably been much happier with ToR if Guild Wars, and the Secret World weren't coming out. ToR has the right idea...putting the story back into MMOs but I don't really feel that they did enough to upgrade the MMO part of the game. I just can't deal with WoW style combat anymore. It's not fun for me. Of course, if I didn't know there were alternatives available it would probably be just fine. The mind is funny that way.

Anyway, hope you have a blast with it.

It's not really WoW style combat though, there's no auto attack, majority of your skills have a pretty low cooldown, I noticed when I played the trooper that there was a ton of AoE type damage in the game, although to be honest I didn't play enough with the JK to know if there's arc damage from a swing or if its specific to the mob you're targetting. Might be specific.

The trooper surely didn't feel like WoW, combat felt involved and fairly dynamic.

Can't touch GW2 combat system though.. Just another reason GW2 has my eye over TOR.

I think I would've been more interested in that game had I found Star Wars interesting in any way
(sorry just had to say it one time at least...)

Feeling tired? There's a nap for that.
