I go to the forums and it just looks BAD compared to these. EVERY forum site I go to has General Discussion at the very top. Not their site, it's near the bottom. Not only that, but it feels as if I'm reading from Reddit or Craigslist. Pretty annoying, imo.
I think I'll just stick here for my main forum site for all things GW thread related.
IMO, the official forums suck kittens! There are no sub-forums, no one seems to see the search button, if there are any moderators, they are all on vacation and ArenaNet does not appear to be monitoring suggestions anyway.

Ya, most sites have suggestion boards that never even get looked at once. The ONLY time suggestions are looked at is if it has a thread going on 100+ pages long. I know, because when I was still a young teenager and played Runescape (before they even had a subscription fee), they had forums. Honestly, the official forum is or has been visited by almost all of the 2 million buyers at least once, it is the first go to adress right now. This forum has a much smaller reader base, hence the comparison is not really fair. Also, this forum has had its share of controversial topics and non issue related discussions.
But it is a great forum, you're right. A bit biased and bordering on blind fanatism when it comes to GW, but that's alright for a forum about... GW!
Yeah but the mods here don't understand sarcasm. I call centaur and Vayne the "T" word after agreeing with Vayne the entire thread therefore assuming it was OBVIOUS I was sarcasting and was not calling them trolls but actually supporting them...and then I get a warning. I was like...ummm ok.
I try to avoid official forums for all games. People generally only use them to complain so it is hard to find intelligent discussion on them. It is just a place for trolls to go and whine.
I don't know if it's about understanding sarcasm at all (and you didn't get that warning from me anyway lol). You have to remember...there are only 3 mods and these forums have become super busy. We read fast. You know, we want to play Guild Wars 2 also.
Considering the speed with which I read and respond to posts and the number of posts a day...I think missing sarcasm periodically is the least you can expect. lol
Plus you have me, I make this forum a whole a lot handsomer.
