The problem is, they just come back with another account. Somehow it seems to be profitable for them to buy a new account and farm gold as long as it lasts, sell it and make a new account. It's baffling that this would work, but somehow it does.
I even got an example for you: I have a retired WoW account that I haven't had activated since one month into Cataclysm. At some point during last winter, I got a mail that my account was banned because of gold advertising. I checked back with my battlenet account and really, some gold farmer had used 13 € of his own money to buy one month of game time, just to spam gold advertisments on some servers...weird, isn't it? That day I got the authenticator-app, even though I don't play anymore. Battlenet is a real shitfest. Have never been hacked the 5 years they didn't have that and since then twice...
