    New member but having problems

    Hi
I just bought GW2 a few days ago and unable to play it because of an email issue. I didn't
realize it wanted a .com and not a .ca Now even though it says I changed emails and have
even received an email confirmation it still says invalid email and won't let me log in. Does anyone
have suggestions (support email sent)? I really want to play. Thanks!

Hi Lostfire, welcome to this forum. Based on the info you gave, I fear that the only thing you can do is wait for support to sort it out... even if that may take a couple of days.

*giggle* I'm the best girlfriend. Right? *laugh* And yeah, I suggested she come here to ask for help just in case you guys might have been able to help. But hopefully support will be able to help her.

She's in Canada and she's wanting to play on my World which is a U.S. server/world.... Stormbluff Isle. (hopefully it's not full since guesting isn't implemented yet. *pout*)

Canada is on the 'US' servers (which btw, are NORTH American servers, which actually houses Australia and South America as well) So long as she registers with whatever email she cares to have associated with it it shouldn't cause issue. (I am Canadian and I play NA servers)

Sorry. Didn't mean to offend. I thought they were U.S. servers but North American makes more sense. And the problem is with her email. For some reason, it doesn't like it. =( She's waiting for customer support to get back to her. Hopefully they'll be able to help her out. =)

No offense was taken, just advising. And I see that, though I am not sure why it didn't like it. My .ca email worked. Has she checked her spam folder?

She just said that it didn't like her yahoo.ca email and that it wanted her to have a yahoo.com instead. So she went and signed up for a yahoo.com email and got one and got a confirmation that the email was set up. She said she tried to change it to the yahoo.com email but it kept saying "Invalid Email". I don't know why. =(

I'm still having problems signing in. It goes to a screen saying download account info, but clicking on it runs through like it's installing -then after that it just goes back to download acct. info. No icon or anything shows up after it runs.
I've sent 2 emails to people on wiki that are like executers. So far no reply. I'm seriously thinking that I just
lost my $ as can't bring it back once opened. I don't know why they don't give a support # to call after all a person
spending $67.00 should have some accesability.

lol... So I did a lil research. ANet's support is freaking atrocious.

    From their support page:

"Changing a Username or Email Address

We know that some players do not have a valid email address for their linked Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 account name and want to change it. At this time, it is not possible to change your Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account name or email address. However, we plan to have this ability before Guild Wars 2 launches." lol what the fu-

So yeah, ignoring that their website is worthless and outdated, I can't find anything about this specific issue. They have been having loads of email confirmations problems since launch, it's been almost a week this is kind of unacceptable. You said you sent emails to people from the Wiki? You did create an actual support ticket, right?

They really need a 1-800 number.

I dunno if you'd want to use this number since you're in Canada but this is off NCsoft's site

"Phone customer service for billing and technical issues from Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 5 p.m. CT, by calling (512) 225-6359. Phone support for in-game issues is not available."
