That's a really dumb way to word it. Call them "warnings" not "zero-point infractions", god damn ANet is really bad at communication.
Actually I don't even think they say that in the damn email, doesn't it just says "You've received an infraction blah blah blah blah blah we're bad at this blah"?

Their so-called attempt at communication is just as lame as everything else on their forum. If you were to be told that the speed limit is 25 MPH and after X number of speeding tickets were issued your license would be permanently revoked without any indication as to what number X was, it simply wouldn't fly. That is what AN is doing. As far as I have been able to discern, nowhere have they posted a table listing the number of infractions and the consequences thereof. I disputed the ban that I did not intentionally receive and aside for asking for my account name, they did not communicate with me further. That was more than 2 weeks ago, and I disputed my original ban the day I got it and again when I received my 2nd ban.

If you were told the speed limit is 25 mph, shouldn't you try to stay under the speed limit instead of trying to find the max number of tickets you can get before your license is revoked by breaking the speed limit? Breaking the speed limit to find out where the ultimate punishment is doesn't seem to be the point of such regulations. The same analogy goes for the forum, naturally.

How has a thread about another forum gone on for 25 pages? Who cares if they are over strict? Clearly everyone that is posting here has already found a better forum anyway.
Except that cops usually don't pull people over unless they're going 10 over. Even the trafic cameras that photo enforce the law wont flash you unless you're going 11mph over said speed limit.
At least that's how it is in my state anyway.
Plus the part he is missing is that these infractions are subjective (and majority of impartial observers disagrees with their opinions) and there is no viable appeals mechanics. So basically...unlike his analogy at all.

Saw a week long recruitment thread yesterday from the Extraordinary Gentlemen guild (please understand its nothing personal against you guys) where the poster LITERALLY SAID "daily bump" blabla "still looking for new members" blabla
I got an infraction for making a post in my recruitment topic saying that Forbidden was still looking for members and a little bit of info about us and our forums address. Yet this guy has been doing daily bumps for over a week now and all those posts are still there.
I dont understand how they are judging whats ok and whats not. If bumping is not ok then why is everyone else getting away with it? Is there something in their posts that wasnt in mine? If i try again to bump my topic will i get another infraction?
I know again im looking to what other people are doing for examples on what i should be doing but the rules (as pointed out by several people already) are very vague and left very open to interpretation and I am not understanding exactly what is allowed and what isnt. In the week that person from Extraordinary Gentlemen has been bumping that thread they have gotten 5x the amount of views on thier thread than any of the other guilds have because other guilds have been shot down and given infractions for trying to bump thier threads.
This is not the first time i have seen other guilds bumping thier threads with no infraction but the first time i have actually literally seen someone say "Daily bump" in thier thread.
Im just confused lol
