Saw a week long recruitment thread yesterday from the Extraordinary Gentlemen guild (please understand its nothing personal against you guys) where the poster LITERALLY SAID "daily bump" blabla "still looking for new members" blabla

I got an infraction for making a post in my recruitment topic saying that Forbidden was still looking for members and a little bit of info about us and our forums address. Yet this guy has been doing daily bumps for over a week now and all those posts are still there.

I dont understand how they are judging whats ok and whats not. If bumping is not ok then why is everyone else getting away with it? Is there something in their posts that wasnt in mine? If i try again to bump my topic will i get another infraction?

I know again im looking to what other people are doing for examples on what i should be doing but the rules (as pointed out by several people already) are very vague and left very open to interpretation and I am not understanding exactly what is allowed and what isnt. In the week that person from Extraordinary Gentlemen has been bumping that thread they have gotten 5x the amount of views on thier thread than any of the other guilds have because other guilds have been shot down and given infractions for trying to bump thier threads.

This is not the first time i have seen other guilds bumping thier threads with no infraction but the first time i have actually literally seen someone say "Daily bump" in thier thread.

Im just confused lol

I think it's just a matter of what mod has a bug up his butt on that specific day. I've gotten infractions for the same thing a couple times before. Thing is, sometimes you just need to bump your thread, and there's no way around that.

Anyway, I got suspended again today lol. I'm not really sure why. The only email in my inbox said something about a thread merge. I'm hoping, at the very least, that the mods aren't retarded enough to ban me for partaking in a thread that got merged with another.

Did you maybe update it before the 24 hour bump update was up because that would cause it, the mods here would like you to at lease wait 24 hours before updating your recruit thread. that being said eg get alot of views because they post that recruitment schim on EVERYTHING where someone is looking for a guild.

I know they have the restriction of 24 hours on THESE forums but may i ask where you saw the restriction of 24 hours on the official forums? I have looked and looked and even sent them a reply to my infraction asking what the proper method of bumping was and got no reply.

And yes i posted well over 24 hours later. It was like a week.

I'm not surprised I got the infraction, but I did get a nice cynical chuckle out of the reason for it.

I think they have a checklist with about 20 words on it and if you post doesn't contain three or more of those words, they just infract it. Along with the guidelines of a) no humor or sarcasm b) nothing that could be interpreted to say anything bad about AN or c) any word with more than 6 letters.

The official forum is utterly pointless. You aren't allowed to say anything it seems. Personally I think Ascended gear is exactly what GW2 needed and I'm thrilled. I wont say a thing about it though because I don't want to be a part of that forum. They are Nazis over there!

I feel your pain, Ruse. What offense is this for you? They won't post the numbers, but on my 2nd temp-ban, I was locked out for 10 days. I didn't complain though, because I earned that ban intentionally. My chaotic nature cannot be denied.
