They are definitely very heavy handed in their moderation of their forums. I've gotten a few infractions but I haven't been suspended yet. It's just making me start to think twice about what I post.

I haven't been infracted all week. I suspect a flesh-eating virus...

Well, I have been given my third temp-ban on the official forums. It is the same with this one as it was with the second one - I was not notified of any infractions at all and there is no PM explaining why I was banned.

After I received 2 back to back infractions due to short posts that complained about the Ranger class balance issues I simply stopped posting or even visiting the GW2 official forums. It is evident to me that Anet does NOT understand the concept of trying to delight their customers. Rather, they have a vision and they will stick to that vision even if it means the game ultimately fails long-term. In addition attempts to communicate with Anet are met with hostility, why even have official forums if you will ban people for communicating opinions that you do not agree with.
Hostile posts that attack other people are one thing, posts that express frustration at the situation or lack of communication are quite another.
SoE made the same mistakes, to a lesser extent, 10 years ago and when their EQ and EQ2 games failed to meet, then newcomer, WoWs level of sucess they only had their treatment of customers to blame. I am no blizzard fan, being a WoW refugee, but they do listen to their customers sometimes and do allow people to discuss issues regarding the game on their forums without banning them for posting opinions they do not agree with.
Yes, the official forums are Anets property and they can do whatever they want on them. There are tens of thousands, or more, people watching Anets forums and their treatment of customers will eventually cause a backlash which will impact future sales from their cash shop or/and expansions. They are only hurting themselves. Sadly much of the drama is being caused by the company trying to cover up the fact that there are serious class balance issues.
Oh, and if my opinions are not suitable for this message board I will simply move on to another one. Mods: Just let me know. You could classify me as something interested in GW2, who plays it, and is still making up their mind if its worth sticking around.

Stick around, don't spend any money in game and wait for ESO. Like me.
This game had logn term promise. Didn't deliver for me due to what I PERSONALLY perceive as huge changes from their manifesto. So I'll stick around untill ESO and TW Rome II come out and take up all my free time.
10 minutes after I voiced my complaint to forums@arena.net, I received and e-mail from NCSoft telling me to report my problem to forums@arena.net. They are intentionally trying to confuse people!

Elder Scrolls Online
If I'm going to get a game with vertical progression and gear grind, I may as well get one that's going to be up front about it and have lore that appeals to me more.
