This game had logn term promise. Didn't deliver for me due to what I PERSONALLY perceive as huge changes from their manifesto. So I'll stick around untill ESO and TW Rome II come out and take up all my free time.
They're making TW Rome II? **** yeah!!!!

It will likely be a year out. If there is a pet class I will play it. I doubt it will be F2P.. but then again.. maybe thats not such a bad thing.

If I'm going to get a game with vertical progression and gear grind, I may as well get one that's going to be up front about it and have lore that appeals to me more.

    Agreed.

I have to admit I'm not so happy with the GW lore myself. Blizzard had the best lore but then went and messed it up..

Yup, I'm insanelly excited for it. Some of the things I've read/ssen about it look totally awesome. I'm a TW fan of all titles except Napoleon, so this game will have my undevided attention for weeks after release.

The Elder Scrolls already have richer and more encompassing lore than Guild Wars. That's one thing they really have going for them in developing ESO. I am curious about this one; naturally everyone says it's going to fail, but only time will tell.

I also agree that Blizzard is still king of lore (even more so than Lord of the Rings) but that they are destroying it.

I'm a bit hesitant about ESO. It sounds cool, sure. But then again they have been so sluggish with programming in their recent games. We can only hope it doesn't evolve into a massive bugfest.

I liked Skyrim, but I played the 1st Elder Scrolls game and swore never to give Bethesda any more money. And I wouldn't have, if they hadn't been given the privilege of extending my favorite series of all time...

Bethesda is notorious for bugs, and in an MMO it will only be worse. They also have a history of being VERY biased in favor of Microsoft, time and time again. This may mean that there'll never be a Mac version.

Will ESO have permadeath or at least open world PvP?

The graphics don't look to great from the footage I have seen so far but I really like their bi-weekly "ask us anything" section.
Nice to see a company that's willing to communicate. Hopefully the gameplay is enjoyable.
