They are rediculously insane on how strick they are on the forums.. I replied to a post about how rude people are in this game especially in dungeons. I agree and I got a notice that my reply was deleted. So I disagree with moderator and replied that I didn't agree. I get banned for life LOL. Not going into great detail what was said,beacuse the argument can be made I was right AND an argument can be made I was wrong. So I didn't get mad. I did laugh and I now stopped playing the game. My wife and our two kids no longer play the game. Not just because of this issue,but because of the environment itself inside GW2. However this issue did not help any in keeping my money.
IMHO GW2 does over-moderate and you are walking on egg shells if you post in the forums. This may be off topic some and I apologize if it is. But another thing I hate about GW2 is how rude the people are. I for one only have one level 80 toon and visited a dungeon to start the grind( the grind they promised wouldn't be part of the game) in getting the commendation needed to buy armor. I told my group a good five times that I was new to zone and have never done the dungeon we where in. So I gave notice before we started and waited to see if any had an issue with it. Nothing was said. So into dungeon I go enjoying myself as I learn a new zone/dungeon. Until I messed up and didn't know I messed up and people from group started cussing me out. The game has been out for five moths and you already have people with multiple level 80 toons all maxed out with exotic gear and legendaries. I called them the welfare bums and they IMHO are infesting GW2 right now. If you didn't have a toon at level 80 within the first month of release and in all the various dungeons you are out of luck. So if you have/had to work the welfare bums expect you to know all 3 paths of any and every dungeon you enter. Forget the fact you have a life and only play for fun and to pass time. This is only one example of many where I was cussed at for being new...I can make a much longer laundry list on broken promises and things wrong with the game,but I leave it here for now.

You can't really blame Arenanet for the players' rudeness. I agree with you that these days people tend to be needlessly impolite on the internet and especially in MMOs. But what can the developers do about this, other than banning people if they swore at you and you sent them a report.

Regarding the forum thing. I think most agree that it is a bit overmoderated over there, but I also must say that I haven't had any problems despite having been a participant in a few lively discussions. But these mostly happened on the German language forums, so they are probably more lenient there or just have less manpower to ban the crap out of the posters

I feel ya man. I don't post on the official forums, I can care less about it TBH. But, I am referring to the player attitudes and being lvl 80. My advice is to find a guild with players of the same mindset. I don't have any level 80s yet, as I have a full-time job, wife, house, 2 dogs, and a baby due in august, the list goes on.

In short, I don't have nearly the time as some of these guys do and I ran into the same problem you did. I ended up quitting GW2 completely for almost 3 out of the 6 months it has been out. But, it actually is a great game and I hated not playing it just because of the lack of community. So, I forced it upon myself to give it another shot. I searched harder and joined a guild (well, actually it is a gaming community) that has a mature crowd of people that are serious gamers, but aren't serious to the point where they are going to deny you from a group, get mad for screwing up, or kick you because you keep dying repeatedly, etc. They play mainly GW2 and TERA.

And believe it or not, just from joining these guys I am finding myself having more fun than I did when I started playing back at launch.

Anyway, just thought I'd give my story because I ran into the same issues. Jerks will be jerks. My advice? @#$%'em...play with people that aren't that way. I'll even hook you up with my guild's info if you're willing to give it another shot. Very good grp of peeps that just like to hang out and have fun. No drama, no bs, just have fun.
