Thread: How Is Guild Wars 2 Going For You Since Launch?

Wink How Is Guild Wars 2 Going For You Since Launch?

Now, I am specifically asking this question for everyone who got GW 2 on launch or at least during the first week.

For me... It's gotten a little boring to say the least, tho if you read my posts here before or remember me, you'd know that I love World VS World, and that too has gotten kinda boring/since week matches started.
Lots of people left my server Henge Of Denravi to go to other servers and now it's a ghost town here, and no one does WVW besides a few people, but I digress, I just finished personal story yesterday on my thief, and oh lol I'll make this a 2 part question.... Did anyone else find the whole story a little easy, but that last story mission a pain and hard? I mean it literally took 2 hours or more to finish it, and sadly we had 4 people instead of the recommended 5 and that was my first time doing a part of a personal story in a party with other people.
I think my map completion is 38% on my level 80 engineer, but yeah I done allot but more into PVP in GW 2 than PVE, but I am not logging on as much as I used to and just play Secondlife which I been on for the last 3 years lol...

Of course I'll probably be on GW 2 when new patches come out such as this first big one coming out the 22nd of October which should be interesting, but for right now, I think I am going to play Secondlife which is more than a game to me if you know what secondlife is, until new patches come out for GW 2. I'll still be making posts on different GW 2 forums because I love to read pretty much everything on forums.

Anyhow so besides me getting bored of PVP and taking a break for awhile, how are you gentlemen and ladies enjoying Guild Wars 2? Is it still the same fun as it was during launch or has it wore off?

And did anyone else hate the last mission of personal story?

That was my problem but I forced myself to just stay on my Thief I made my main and keep my Engineer which are both 80 tho I will say i got a 36 Warrior, but meh, I won't make another new class unless they come out with other classes in the future with one appealing to me, but I love my Thief, I should have been a Assassin in Aion lol...... I think with every MMO that comes out, I am going to take a stealth based class but it's your taste.

I suggest reading all the skills of each classes on the wiki, and watching video's of them, and then trying one, or just go ahead and make them all and level them to like 10 or something if you feel like doing that.

Last week was actually the first time that I didn't complete the daily achievement since launch. Which was followed by four more days of not playing because I just needed a break. My Ele has been 80 for quite a while now and I have about 6 or 7 zones left to explore (72% map completion) but I'm low on money and for the life of me I can't find a decent group of people to run dungeons with.

Sitting in a zone spamming LFG isn't going to happen and I've looked for guilds or just people who may have a spot or two open but apperently no one on my server uses the talk program Ventrilo so yea lol. It just got to frustrating so I stopped for a few days.

Logged on this morning and still can't find a dungeon group so I just said screw it and got on my ranger. Now my plan is to hit 30 on my ranger and WvW my ass to 80 on her for the money/karma/exp since dungeons are out of the question .

I do still enjoy the game its just people. Sometimes online gaming just gets to me I guess.

    /end rant

    lol

I still play every day, and I'm still enjoying myself. One of the big differences between experiences seems to be if people are in decent and compatible guilds This game, for me, is a lot more fun playing with other people I know. Even a mediocre MMO can be made good by playing with the right people. A good MMO can be great. Guild Wars 2 is actually a great MMO (to me). Which means playing with the right people is fantastic.

As for WvW, if your'e not happy on your server, why not switch now, while the transfers are still free?

As to the personal story, Arah, the last step in the story, is a dungeon. Trying to do a dungeon with four people is tough to begin with. If it was your first dungeon it would be even tougher. That's the only part of my personal story I've yet to do, waiting for a decent block of time, but others in my guild loved it.

And when I'm ready to go in there and face the dragon I'll be doing it with friends and guildies.

After I hit 80 and got my first set of exotic gear I jumped into SPvP almost full time. Not gonna lie, the valor grind from 1-80 is probably the longest grind I've ever seen in any MMO. It's really awful. It's only for aesthetics, but the amount of points you'll get per match on average is atrocious.

I can see why they did it though, I mean, for people that really want those aesthetics, valor boosts help a lot. So buying them can be worth it.

Honestly, if I had known then what I know now and the pre-puchase price for GW2 had been $200, I would have gladly handed over the money and considered it a bargain! I am too scared to type /age any more, but the last time I typed it, it was around 400 hours in 47 days.

I played the game as a normal player for the 1st week and then I discovered the RP server. Since that time, I have mostly done RP only and I have not had a single accidental XP gain in 2 weeks. I love this game, I love my guild and I love all of the friendly people I have met. When I leave for Hawaii in 9 days for vacation, I will probably shed a tear, an unheard of occurrence for me.

I have taken a break from the game which started about a week or so ago. Not because it was boring, not because I don't like it but because I can. You see, without a subscription fee I do not feel forced to keep playing to 'get my moneys' worth. This opens up the availability to play games that I purchased a long time ago or have way too much money in (like EVE) not to bother playing. Then, when those grow cold and boring again (as they always do) I can come back to the game I love without hesitation.

Have nowhere near enough time to accomplish all my goals while still doing work, social things and making sure the dog gets his daily run. I also make that situation worse by getting sucked into way more hours of WvW than planned. And I have alts I want to play ...

So...awesome. A good guild makes all the difference imo.
