I'm still playing, but not as much as in the beginning. But that's to be expected with a fresh game.

But lately, after focussing on WvW solely and my server finally getting an alliance with TS started, I'm playing a lot more. That part of the game is really fun although it is a bit soured by the broken matchup system that sadly has been ruined by allowing free server transfers for a way too long period.
Every week some top-servers lose people due to their long queues. These people go to lower ranked servers with lower queues and make them stronger than their rating would reflect, thus dominating the lower brackets. And on the other hand these high ranked servers with lots of attrition are left bloodless and have no chance, after the major forces who brought them up there have left.
I hope they shut that vicious cycle down soon.

Other than WvW I don't find much to do anymore. The PVE was fun at first with the DEs, but got stale very quickly. My main is lvl 76 now and I haven't done PVE since lvl 40 or so. But that's not necessarily the game's fault. I've always done PVE mainly to get to the lvl where I could finally PVP. Therefore I really love the fact that I don't have to here

But as WvW is really fun I've definitely got my money's worth now and will do so in the future. And I hope after we've dodged the latest shooting star server that steamrolls the field from the lower brackets (Miller's Sound seems to be the place to be for German language WvW fans at the moment...), which should be at the end of the week, we will finally be getting more balanced WvW in the lower midfield brackets. That is, unless some top server alliance decides to move down to a server with lower population again...

Well, I've got no characters to 80 yet - I just don't feel the need to rush - in fact, my highest level is 46 with four others way below that.

I just love to find Vista's. At present they are my favourite thing to do. I did try the jumping puzzle in Caledon Forest but I just cannot get to grips with it; died plenty on that! It's probably really easy in comparison to others but then I'm not the best gamer on the planet. Apart from that, I enjoy running around finding places I've never seen before and listening in on the dialogue of NPC's - some of it is a hoot.

As for PVP or WvW stuff? Well, as of now, I have no interest in them.

Awesome. Can't stop playing. I've taken off of work a few times just to grind or do WvW (not to mention how much my family loves being ignored). My Mesmer is decked out in exotics and has 2 of the Mesmer phantasm weps (Vision and Whisperblade) thanks to help from some friends. Soon I'll have a glowy purple hand focus (The Anomaly) to match! I'm broke now though and I need a bunch of skill points which noone wants to give me (I don't understand why someone won't just give me 200 of their skill points). Someone give me a bloodstone shard! GRR!

Also having a blast running around in 10-15 man groups taking out huge zergs in WvW. Click here! This was last night. I'm the guy with the fancy blades dropping portals in the middle of the enemy zerg.

    I'm addicted to GW2. That's how it's going.

I have one character at level 67 and I was at launch. I played yesterday for like 45 minutes but before that I haven't played in a week. I like the game but I have issues with just having fun in it... Though to be honest I stopped having fun because I was just trying to level up using wvw. So I am aware of my problem that I just need to do regular zones and make a friend or two to do them with. My eng is cool though.

My highest character is only 23, but that not due to not playing it due to having 10 other characters, and I'm working on getting enough gold to get gems to get a 12 slot, I recon that i will end up with between 15 and 20 characters to get all the combinations of race and class that I want, I'm trying to concentrate on getting the gems rather than deleting characters to try a different combination.

As for what I do, mainly wander around until I see something interesting, either a viewpoint, a skill challenge, an event or whatever. I take it slow, and enjoy letting the world unfold around me. I have never really had an interest in pvp, I try it every now and again on other games, but on GW2 will probably wait until I have a level 80 character. I tend to be by myself a lot, my husband and a friend play occasionally and when they are on we do things together, our guild is very slowly getting the influence to get things like a bank.

I guess my big worry is with only 3 of us will I be able to finish my story lines with them or will I have to group with strangers, reading other posts it sounds like it is a 5 man dungeon to finish off, and I was hoping the personal story would be totally soloable.

If anyone one here is on Piken Square (EU) let me know, the server forum here is dead, so I have been guessing that you are all elsewhere.

I am playing 14 characters which range from level 4 to 77; I have three that I got to 40 and above so I could get one each into the three orders, but for me, this game is about exploration; there is so much to do and see. When I tire of it on one character/prof, I move to another. If I am really tired of questing, I will craft. When I want to group, I group, when I don't, I don't. All at a nice unfrenzied pace because I do not have to worry about being left behind gear/skillwise because I haven't raided this week, etc.. The game is not without its flaws, some quite annoying, but overall I like the game and enjoy myself and that is all that require of any game I play. If it's not fun, it ain't worth it; GW2 is definitely fun.

This is why I, personally, don't rush to get to lvl80. I take my time with the game and enjoy what it has to offer. I am almost 50% map completion and I am a lvl66 Ranger. I have 4 other toons all around lvl10-14ish to see what else I like. But for me, it just isn't about getting to 80 as fast as I can. I enjoy other features such as gathering, crafting, screwing around with dyes, jumping puzzles and whatnot. I feel that a race to 80 makes you miss out on so much extra fun stuff that the game has to offer! For example, I have come across a few cliffs in which a pair of diving goggles awaits. Why not take a break from leveling and just take a dive once and awhile?? haha

As for my guild, we have roughly 14 members but there are about 4 of us who meet up once a week on the weekends to do dungeon runs. The 5th is always filled by another member (we have a few members who are available once and awhile and will fill in). But we made this into a weekly thing (instead of rushing to do them all in a week) so we have something to look forward to.

But yeah, I don't want to sound like I am bashing anyone who is level 80 or anything but I see this happen all the time in new MMOs: the game releases and there are always certain individuals who rush like mad to get to level 80. My advice to some of you is to simply slow down a bit. Take your time and enjoy the game. Were here to have fun with it and if you rush through the game, you will miss so much and then feel like you have nothing left to do. Not to sound like a jerk, but your not going to get any special treatment or achievements for being the first person to reach 80. If anything people, like myself, will just look and say 'man...well, thats cool and all but did you know about this? did you know about that?" and usually the answer is "wow, no I didn't!" It happened with one of my guild mates...lol

Anyways, I gotta wrap this reply up. Plain and simple guys, I am by no means bashing you or trolling you or anything of the sort. I am merely telling you that if your lvl80 with a low percentage in map completion, etc etc etc...ask yourself if you rushed a little too fast through the game. There is TONS of content in this game. Just take your time, enjoy it. Take a few moments to look at the scenery...do jumping puzzles...do metaevents....do crafting...do some gathering...I refuse to believe that you have simply done EVERYTHING in this game. lol But anyways, I hope this helps some of you guys slow down a bit..just for YOUR own sake to be able to enjoy it a bit more...that's all I am getting at here.

The thing is, doing meta events, working on map completion, and crafting all result in... boatloads and boatloads of xp. I didn't specifically rush to get my characters to 80; leveling is just really, really fast in this game if you're playing actively and often.

Agreed. I would say I reached 80 by experiencing the content, not rushing. Also I don't think anyone here was saying "I'm level 80 and I've done everything and now there's nothing to do". If someone is level 80 that means they explored the game to get there.

Branch out and explore the content. Follow your storyline. Stop waiting for something to happen and go make things happen and you'll level. It's not like there's places to explore that don't give you XP. Just try to realize that level doesn't matter at all, once your 80 it just means you've unlocked all of the content and you're free to explore whatever you want.

I don't usually care for PvE in games but I am completely engrossed in the GW2 world.

EDIT: I guess you could rush through the mechanics of the content and not pay attention to the actual content itself which I guess is what people call rushing. Different strokes I guess, I'm not going to knock the playstyle because I played Rift for a long time (where there was little to no actual lore behind anything) and did that. GW2 is different though. I don't see myself getting burned out.

Immerse yourself in your character and see what an awesome world they created for us to explore.

Im just recently becoming frustrated and considering leaving the game all together. I WvW exlusively and that seems to be the one area AN is completely ignoring. The system is broken. The orb bonuses, the outmanned buff, the map, no ranking system, slow badge drops, bugs (invidible armies for a week anyone), no dedicated WvW team (even though there is a dedicated sPvP team for example), THE 24 HOUR FREE TRANSFERS that are ruinning the WvW game completely as people are jumping to successful servers to get more rewards...completely changing your server.

I'm not bitter because we're losing....we're not, my server IOJ is kicking so much but we're going to get moved to a tier 1 matchup next week...and then we'll get the "tier 1" curse where all the bandwagon jumpers come in cause huge que times and mess up the community because they don't care about the "community" but about getitng in and getting their points/money/stuff, won't have the best strategy because they're not trying to maximise server benefit, but personal benefit. Thsi apparently has happened to many servers already, and its slowly staring to happen to ours. If next week, the full on server invasion happens because of the tier 1 move after people have talked about this to AN so much on the official forum and they have ignored it, well then I guess I'm done becase in the end its just a game and if you're not having fun you should be doint something else. No rage goodbye threads, no down with AN threads, just a "sucks that AN couldn't make this aspect of the game fun for me and many others so we'll be leaving now"...
