    Lost my passion for Gaming

I admitt that GW2 is an amazing game, and revolutionary game play should inspire me...but I just don't game like I used too; I remember playing Fissure of Woe for 5 straight hours one night, and LFG's for hours in WOW...but now I can't seem to stayin the game for more than half an hour without loosing interest. i think maybe something might be wrong with me, is there a pill for this?

Party with a group of people. I have the same problem but today I joined two of my guildies and it didn't feel like I was really doing anything. Went from 63-65 in a couple hours and did a lot of hearts, jumping puzzles, vistas, dynamic events, etc. and it was amazing.

Yeah, as much as I love GW2 from a mechanics/design perspective, I wouldn't enjoy it half as much without company. A Cow Finisher alone is funny, but a Cow Finisher routinely shared with 10-15 others on Mumble becomes hilarious.

I have issues playing games lately too. Usually when I get on a video game I am like "why am I doing this?" So occasionally for example in GW2 I will log into the character select screen, and just shut the game off without logging in. My guild asked me last time I was on where have I been because I am never on. In fact everyone has capped out and I used to be on the top! And really I had the opportunity to play the whole time but decide not to. Heck I just get off my gaming computer and get on my laptop and listen to music. Yep fun...

Maybe you're wanting to do something else but are unable to, and are dissatisfied with games. Perhaps you play it because you want to be interested in something or to take your mind off of what you want or what you used to have. Or maybe you are growing out of it all and are ready to do something new. Whatever the case you can force your self to make something entertaining (even though really it might not be so).

The solution then is to take the red pill. Because placebos make you feel feelers

Mpved this to off topic, since it's more about you than Guild Wars 2.

And I pretty much agree with what's been said. It's a great game, but playing it alone is just meh. Playing with other people is fantastic.

I think a lot of us got used to soloing in MMOs while leveling. But this game has a few issues, because without the breadcrumb trail most games have, there's nothing to distract you from the fact that you are alone. When you explore the world with a friend or a guild, or even just chat with a guild on a voice program while playing, the game flies.

    That's my experience, anyway.

Strangely, I have felt burnt out on MMO games in general, but I am still enjoying playing games alone. That being said, GW2 is certainly more fun with friends - but it also makes MOST content outside of dungeons trivial and it feels like you burn through things with the ease of a knife cutting through butter.

I am not saying GW2 is boring, I just think I need to find a new set of challenges within the game. WVW might be it, but I really don't want to commit the time to get a good chunk of WVW pounded out. I am looking for a game that will challenge me in the areas I want to be challenged in, not what the game dictates me to be challenged in I guess.

I will keep playing GW2 only because I want to see the world (its a majesty) and the friends I've made and those I brought with me. However, its been weeks since I logged in to do anything more serious than chat because I can't be bothered right now.

...or you can contribute it to growing up in general.

Now that I am married and have a house, I feel like instead of playing games there are a million other things I could be doing with my time. Also, when I do actually sit down at night to play GW2, I only play at a maximum of 2 hours so my wife doesn't think I'm turning into a computer troll hunched over the keyboard.

It's kind of why I prefer console gaming... instead of being isolated in the computer room, I'm in the living room on the couch and it doesn't feel like I'm being completely anti-social.

tl;dr : You are getting older

Or you could just marry another gamer, let the dog curl up under your desk and be totally social. :P "Growing up" doesn't have to mean "stop having fun," lol

Exactly! I've had guildies over the years in their 50s and 60s. I hope I'm still gaming in my 60s too! heheh

Well I'm kinda in the same boat as the topic starter. I used to game quite a lot (maybe too much), but you were young and was still in high school/college. Now that I pretty much finished school (done in about 2 weeks), I don't really feel like wanting to play games. Meaning, growing up :P

Everytime I turn on GW2 I feel like, hmm, why do I want to play this. Why 'waste' my time playing a game?
Often I also launch GW2 and then at the character screen I'm like, why? And shut it down :P

I still play some games like Battlefield 3. And I really love playing FIFA 13 with my real life friends. But that's much more social than playing an MMO. Sitting on a couch getting all worked up about an intense soccer match is awesome.

I just can't find the time or desire to play games that much anymore. I also would rather watch a movie than play a game. Lately I'm just being a lot more social, doing stuff with friends more (because you never know what can happen ) and doing sports 5 times a week. When I finally have some alone resting time, I prefer to spend it watching a movie than playing a hectic game.
