Can you have more than one account?

Is it possible to have more than one account without buying another game? Lets say you had someone living with you that wanted to play, but you have all character slots full and don't want to delete them. Is it possible to have another account to let them play without shelling out another $60+?

I dont believe so. You dont technically buy the game when you pay the 60 dollars, you purchase the key in order to activate the account. You can have gw2 downloaded on as many computers as you want but in order to log in you need the activated account. So in order to have another account you must buy the game again.

You could buy another character slot (unless by "full", you mean you already bought as many as possible and filled them already)...but you two wouldn't be able to play at the same time. Otherwise, no, I think the only way would be to buy another game for full price.

I could be wrong, but I think any other way wouldn't be legal.

Since the entire business model is based on people buying the game, no. You can't just have another account to play for free.

It wasn't about having the game for free I figured we buy the game and the account was free. As is with most games.

On another note, someone told me server/world switching was free now. Did they change it from guesting on other servers for free and paying to switch home worlds to where you can just switch for free? or is it just free for a certain amount of time?

Free server transfers (limited to once every 24 hours) is only free until guesting is implemented. My guess is they're finding guesting buggy and won't release it till it works, so until then you can transfer once per day for free.

I think I didn't understand your problem. When you buy a game, the account is free, since it belongs to that game version. But if you want your mate to play on another account, you'll have to buy another game copy for another game account. Server transfers won't help you with that, as far as I know, since you move your all your account (read: characters) to that new world.

The game itself is actually free. What you buy is the account. Heck, I've been downloading massive amount of Guild Wars 2 copies to install on many computers, including my friends'. But you need to buy an account for $60 to play the game as your own. So in your case, you have to buy another account for that other person, so that you can play together at the same time. As with the game files, just copy and paste from your computer to that person's computer and voila, (s)he get to play the game instantly. Otherwise, you may need to share your account, which means that only of you can play the game at any one time.
