Thread: My ROSE-Colored Glasses are BROKEN

Lol so it's gone from no risk, to no reward, to a predictable story (but praising games with equally, or moreso, predictable ending) to wanting to work for something (but then complaining about grind) to just bashing the fantasy genre.

Were you just having a bad day? Did you just need some attention? Trying to burn bridges so you aren't tempted to come back? I don't get it. You clearly didn't list your actual problems with the game, because every time you run yourself into a corner on one argument, suddenly it's totally different. You want to discuss, you say, but you don't actually discuss anything.

    So..wtf?

This may be a false impression, but I think he over-hyped the game for himself and spent so much time convincing himself that it would be revolutionary when it's not. It's just another MMO that does somethings differently.

Wait, after 28 pages you still haven't an idea what he thinks is wrong with the game? Shoke, you really need to upgrade your communication skills. :P

Btw, the last 10 pages or so were highly amusing. Carry on.

I'm pretty bored if i'm honest.
I miss healing and I miss raiding.
I find it hard to immerse myself in the story too, which is obv my own fault.
I think PVP is pretty bad.
Crafting seems to have no point really besides being a levelling tool.
Without being guilded and running with guildies the social side seems non-exsistent. People don't need to group up and so don't seem to feel obliged to speak.
I feel no affinity with my server, seeing as i can just move to another whenever i want.
Events dont scale how i was told they would, they get zerged and just feel like grinding quests most of the time anyway.
Explorables are far easier than i expected, and feel like dps zergs combined with that wonderfully challenging mechanic of moving out of circles.
Theres no real connection between gear and achievement. By which i mean things like "wow look at his shield, that means he's managed to defeat poopagon the toilet dragon boss!! Wowzers
Waypoints really shrink the world, which i thought was what they didnt want and why mounts weren't in the game.
    Underwater combat is pretty awful.
Being able to run back to encounters in dungeons is really bad.

    Ok rant over.

    No interest in the lolmentalist

Since you're so bored brochaco, I'm assuming you'll have time for us to arrange a 1on1 PVP match so you can roll my lolmentalist. He for some reason hasn't lost 1on1 to a warrior in like 50 matched but I'm sure all those guys were doing it wrong so I'm hoping you can show me what a joke the class is!!! So excited to learn from the pros!!! :

I don't have comments on most of this, but I do think the way point thing is pretty cool, because sometimes they're contested, which gives me incentive to take them back. In fact, recapturing waypoints is one thing I really enjoy doing.

Also on the comment on no relationship between gear and achievement, I assume you're not including dungeon armors and weapons in that.

How is grinding tokens at all like what i said? Grinding a dungeon 100s of times is not comparable to defeating a genuinely difficult boss.

Okay I was under the impression you were talking about the association of an achievement with loot, rather than talking about the difficulty of the encounter.

No, my point was i want to have items that i can directly relate to an encounter. When everything is from tokens it completely removes that. When you have a shield on your back that dropped off the final boss in the most recent raid, it feels more meaningful and epic than having a shield you just zerg farmed a dungeon for.

Not that i want to argue about it. It's just something i personally prefer, and one of many things that i think are contributing to my extremely quick burnout of the game.

I think the biggest issue here is that most players are former/current WoW players and expected the game to be WoW with better graphics.

Though, i concur, endgame is lacking, PvE is lacking as well.
