A VIDEO GAME!

There are children dying all around the world, dying of hunger. There is a civil war in Syria. This game costs as much as some people make all year. And here we are bitching at each other like we killed each other's puppies. Vayne and Shoke, you both need to grow up. And by grow up, I mean act like grown men and responsible adults, not like bickering, self-entitled, arrogant children. This whole thread is like two kids arguing over a blue ball. One is ok with the blue ball, and the other is disappointed with it. And then they fight over it. The level of disrespect in this thread is astonishing. Especially from people that touted, that this forum was a respectful place to discuss a video game.

Click on the Global Tab, look at the chart, look at the decline.

If thats not a steady decline over the weeks I dont know what is.

We spoke about this before and I posted the link a couple of weeks back and guess what it is still declining heavily on sales.

It has had its peak.

Not to say the chart is not valid, but if you look at their chart about Mists of Pandaria it shows only 0,85 million copies sold so far. If Blizzard's claims are true and they still have over 9 mio subs that would mean that only about 10 percent of these subscribers got the newest addon. Seems a bit unlikely to me. So I'm not a 100% sure their numbers are totally accurate. But that's just an opinion, of course.

But aside of this I'd assume that there would definitely be a decline in sales after the release. I guess most games sell the huge chunk of their copies in the first couple of weeks (especially games with the kind of hype created around them like triple A MMO releases and such).

But about activity and willingness to pay real money on ingame services (this is in the end what will make or break the game from Arena Net's perspective; they need to create revenue after all) these charts don't give much information. Only Arena Net can say if they are getting the kind of money out of the gem shop they were expecting. But again, I also see that the activity has declined in my surroundings (But that's also always the case with new MMO releases, in my experience; many try it, some move on, some stay...). But there are still lots of players around, so I guess the game isn't failing right now.

I also got a tell because I kept dodging throw bolas and the engi net shot thing over and over while a small group chased me all the way across the map and into my group. I guess I have to be somehow cheating to ... you know ... have mapped the "look behind" key and use it, rofl.

The pumpkins are a blast but its not like the cows aren't awesome to begin with.

Only disappointing this right now is that IOJ is in a T1 matchup but we're in last place but because we give ourselves a better chance of getting back to T1 by fighitng one server and letting a different one cap more, there was a big movement the last two days to do that. I could not be more against that. I'd rather fight to the last man and with honor in a T1 matchup then get rolled like a chump to get back to T1. First time I really disliked my server. That's just not my mentality, I can't roll over to anyone ever. I understand strategy but it should be strategy that maximises your chance to win. How is getting farmed for badges by one side just to get back to T1 sooner better than fighting till the end and then getting back to T1 by earning it in the T2 matchup. So angry I'm thinking about swithcing servers just not sure where yet.

Well I think I overplayed and that may have brought boredom, plus also not been able to do 1 single story mode dungeon and not been able to explore Orr for the reasons previously described really broke my spirit about the game. When you reach 80 there is nothing to play for, no new level to reach, no new goals etc.

Which is the problem with almost all new MMOs these days. They all lack proper endgame. WoW has a wide variation of endgame, and that is why it is still going strong.

I think the biggest issue here is that most players are former/current WoW players and expected the game to be WoW with better graphics.

Though, i concur, endgame is lacking, PvE is lacking as well.

This. And EVE is a better example, since the endgame there is so massive that it lasted for close to 10 years now. Sandbox ain't a bad thing per se.

EU Servers are Terrible atm, not surprised about NA, same in Diablo 3, US always has some people floating around EU is awful.
