'Bump' thread if the main post is edited

Most of the forums I frequent are professional in nature and I am used to their standard where editing the original post will result in the thread being pushed back to the top of the list. The purpose of this is to allow all relevant information added to the post by the OP to remain in the original post, inform people that the thread has updated (and it is assumed that they are intelligent enough to note the name of the last poster and the last edited time stamp for the original post) without the OP having to add a meaningless post as I was forced to do here.

Is this a feature that anyone, other than myself, would find useful?

I don't really have a problem with those "meaningless" posts... and if you use that post to explain the reason why to OP was edited, it can actually provide a lot more interesting updates to the thread than a bump due to the OP being edited... as many people will not remember what was in the OP before the edit.

Also, given your recruitment section rules for bumping, auto-bumping due to editing of the OP means that we would also need to put restrictions in place on how often you can edit your OP. So if you made a mistake in the edit, you wouldn't be able to correct it for 24 hours. I don't think that would be an improvement...
