Thread: How's this gonna work?

    How's this gonna work?

    Will it be super in-depth?
Will I have to farm hides? Will it be a ridic time sink? --plz say no
Will it just be modding gear I find, or will I be able to make truly epic gear myself?

good questions. Unfortunately, A-Net hasn't revealed much in the way of how equipment is going to work in game. Besides telling us that certain skills will be activated by what items we use.

As for how we get those items, we have to stay tuned.

I think it'd be fun to be able to craft or modify for specific attributes, but I REALLY don't want to see an Aion-like emphasis on gear. I love the fact that Guild Wars focuses on the use of skill, rather than who can afford the best kit. I hope they don't change that.

yea, Momcat. I think not relying on the need to gather 'uber l33t' gear has always been one of the strengths of the game.

    Welcome to the forum, btw!

Agreed! That is one of the reasons that I was attracted to the game and that is also why I think the PvP is so popular as well - because everyone's gear is effectivly the same, it only comes down to the skin of the armor and items.

Don't get me wrong, I like having neat gear...that does stuff, but I don't like the idea that certain gear is necessary to play or be considered one of the cool kids (to put it simply)
Reality is for those who can't handle √-1

Yeah, I'm the type of person who will "work" so to speak for cosmetics...but GW managed to make gear "matter" (in that you customized it to enhance your build) but they did it the correct way imo.

    Thanks for the welcome
I'd also like to add: Please, for the love of the Gods; NO RNG!
Please give us a crafting system that challenges, encourages, and rewards you for your diligence, instead of popping the player in front of a slot machine regardless of their crafting experience.

Yah, that too. It's one of the reasons I'm so demotivated to raid in AoC, lol.

I wonder what crafting jobs people will find acceptable
