Really fun experience. There was a block keeping me from swimming too far under though.

Bumped your own thread. BAN HIM!

Haha. That is cool.. I'm surprised your not a Mesmer seeing as how we get to fall through the ground and get stuck in things on a regular basis.

Did you find anything cool under there other than water?

I found absolutely nothing. I have other glitch threads on here too, not that I purposely search for them. There is nothing under water except water and some weird space like ring around. Once you swim too far up, the game catches you and sends you back to the beginning of the puzzle. Not sure if staying under water keeps the time from repeating though, that would be horrible if I just sat there all day not allowing people to join the event.

I had a bug earlier where standing on the last staircase just before jumping into the clock face (but not ACTUALLY taking the jump) let the mist rise over my head, but my character didn't "fail." She just stood there with neon-green mist everywhere. After a bit, I just jumped off the stairs into the abyss, fell forever, then got teleported back to the entrance.

When I got back, the group was in the middle of a run. So, I'm assuming that the bar will eventually fill up and reset everything, allowing the group to start the next run, whether you're bugged or not. Keep in mind, each run is its own individual instance.

Ah see I thought the timer waited for everyone to fail or beat it and return back, then start over.

Actually, the same happened to me.
I could get out of the borders in 2 different ways.
The first was using a skill on my engineer, while the event was starting.
The second one was to jump out of the borders at a certain spot.
    Reported this 2 methods.

But I couldn't resist to explore

So I was able to reach a Point of Interest in the West.
And guess which one... The Belfry Tower (where the chest of the JP is located).

    Yup, that was my experience
