Ok, so I'm back and I'm here to address some comments and questions:

Well i think it starts with confirming or not the person behind the character, so some sort of voice chat is needed, and maybe a social website on the side too.

Not a problem. I've linked my skype name to this profile, and I would be more than willing to do an interview over skype, minus the camera for my interviewee.

Also, come on guys. How could this possibly be a scam if they don't have any of your personal information whatsoever? What are the going to scam you out of, your thought processes?

Thank you! I am trying for every precaution to protect the identities and information of the people I work with, because I have a risk in the project as well of being reported and having my Guild Wars account banned. I do NOT want that.

That said, with the return of the OP, I'm more than wiling to accept the premise that this person is legitimately looking for help on his/her research project. Though it would be nice to have more info about it.

I am more than happy to post bigger portions of my project proposal, which is close to ten pages long. I've already put a lot of time into this project, before I had any contact with the community.

Hopefully that clears up the most recent of suspicions. For those of you who expressed interest, I will private message you!

Sorry for the negative welcome you received from some people in this thread - I completely understood what you said in your first post. I think people should not jump to conclusions right away...

By the way, do you happen to be on Ehmry Bay? I could swear your user name (Finley Oakes) sounds really familiar to me, but I'm not sure why. I'm usually on my Katzy or Katarzynea when I play, so I'll try to remember to shoot you a note next time I'm online (probably tomorrow, for the Part 4 event), and maybe I can help you out with your research. =)

Okay, that's great. That's a random email, from a random person, asking for personal info about your bank accounts.

This is a forum, where someone had to take the time to join and write that post, and included her in-game name so you could contact her; she didn't even ask for your email address! She wasn't asking for money, she wasn't asking for personal info, she wasn't asking you to cash impossible amounts of money using your bank account. She appears to be doing everything she can to make the people who want to help her feel as secure and worry-free about their identity-safety as possible.

If you don't want to participate in her research, that's fine. But don't start judging her and accusing her of being a scam artist on a public forum, when she's not even asking for anything personal from you.

And that is why people tend to react with a skeptical view first, way too many scams around there. Plus a person posting this kind of request with only 1 post ever here raises Big flags, so we were proven wrong? Only time will tell, I abstain from participating in any study.
