Upgrading my PC for Guild Wars 2, because I WANT TO PLAY IT SO BADLY

So right now I have probably one of the worst PCs to exist, It was produced sometime right when windows vista was launched. I don't have a good enough processor to handle the game (probably not enough ram either) so I thought it would be best to reuse the case since it seems like it's highly unlikely that I can get the build I want this Christmas :/

Alright I did a bit of research and I can get the same power I was looking for, for much cheaper with AMD, I don't know why, but I'm willing to try them out...

ASRock FM2A75M-DGS FM2 AMD A75 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard: $60
Rosewill CAPSTONE Series CAPSTONE-450 450W 80 PLUS GOLD: $80 ($70 with instant savings)
    AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 Quad-Core Desktop Graphic AMD 7660D: $130

I have a 500GB hard drive and I think 3 Gb of RAM, do you think that processor will be good enough to play Guild Wars 2, even though the integrated graphics aren't good enough?

This would be my first AMD processor and motherboard.

That processor should be good enough to play GW2 with... I would worry more about that graphics chip: you will not be able to play GW2 with an Intel HD Graphics 2500, and although the Intel HD Graphics 3000 is the absolute minimum requirement for GW2, you won't enjoy playing the game on that either. So I do recommend adding a bit of extra money to the mix to put a real graphics card into that machine.

As I'm not too familiar with all the current low budget graphics cards available, I will leave the recommendation on exactly what that should be, to more experienced posters.

Yeah, I realized that Intel is pretty much out of my price range at this point :/ I cut the build by about $100 switching to AMD and a Micro MOBO. Hopefully that should be able to run GW2 on Medium to Low Settings?

As Centaur says all but the gfx will cut it. As your on a tight budget you might be better looking at one of the discontinued high end cards which you should be able to get hold of at a fraction of the price. I happen to still be running one of those lol. Mines a 768mb8800GTX and runs issue free on normal settings, it was about £270 when i bought it but you will be able to get one at a fraction of that price, obviously if you can budget for better then great but something similar should sort you out for a while. Alternatively look for a similar or better Radeon, which like your AMD chipset should be a little cheaper than an NVidia. I don't know much about Radeons, but will say if you go for an NVidia stick with a GTX, a GT won't be much better than your onboard and a GTS isn't much good unless running in SLi (2x cards with a SLi board)

So I should get a graphics card? I want to do a lot of WvW and I want to be a grenadier so I don't exactly have to be that close to other players. The only thing I really want to do is play Guild Wars 2, even if it's at the lowest graphics settings.

I really think that would be playable on low/mid settings with everything you can turned off. Again it has 7660D graphics not intell 3000. But your probably going to need more than you think the memory you have will not work you need 1866MHz and alot of it for that chip and the graphics, if you do not have a SATA connection on your hard drive and CD/DVD drive both will need to be replaced, probably a new copy of windows, some storebought PC's have a odd motherboard so not sure if the new motherboard would even fit in your PC (if you could link your exact PC that would help) But any how here are some better prices the CPU and motherboard combo deal $175 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...=Combo.1076922
Cheaper powersupply and good quality. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=
(you might be able to use your old PSU)
    ram

I would not recomend this build but I can see where it would actually play the game (not really high on the 7660D)

Yeah I guess I'll just wait until the time of purchase to pick out a good MOBO and CPU deal. The original post had an intel build, which is what Centaur was referring to....But yeah, I will probably upgrade to having an actual graphics card in a year or so.

I don't really care about running the game on high or medium, I just want to play the game haha, I would play the game blindfolded, but only if I can play it haha.

Intel chips with reasonable onboard graphics are so expensive, and then certain AMD offerings work well, some do not. WHen were you planning to build this system and how much is your budget?
