Thread: Everybody wants to make a human, apparently.

I got 1 of each, I like the Norn and the Asura, I hate charr movement, I wish I could make my Charr walk on two feet only, it becomes an annoyance when trying to jump from the 4 leg position

I have some alts but I don't consider them alts...they're all lvl 3 and below and I just have them to take to the mysts and figure out the mechanics of other classes so I know how to beat them all.

I only have one character. I will only have one character. He is a human male that I made to look as closely to me as I can. It helps the immersion...this is the closest I can get to being in game. If I'm a charr...well I know I'm not a big cat thing...so I cant feel like I'm in the world..but like I'm playing some game. Which is ok, but I needed a human for better immersion.

Other need NON humans to get that feeling of immersion. Different strokes. I'm not sure why this would bother you in the slightest or why you'd spend more than 1.5 seconds of your life thinking about it.

I feel the same as Katzyn about "fantasy game" X "why humans?"

But, this statistics is just predictable.

My main char is a Norn. My second one is a Charr because I would like to play some kind of Kilrathi toon in a fantasy game, even if they actually don't look like Kilrathi (but, at least, the concept). My third char is a human, who looks like me (a really better version, of course. But bald, anyway).
My forth is a Norn, too.
    And a fifth, Sylvari.

I like the Sylvari and Charr stories, but the look of the Norn is more what I want to play.

I also like the Asura. But, you know, I usually do prefer something more imposing to play. I always say: oh, this one is cool. I could RP it! Create a few storylines to them (Asura and Sylvari), but... but... but... oh, damn, I can't let my Norn.

I think it was to be expected. I was just surprised that the asura are only 4th. To me they stick out the most, so I was under the impression that a lot more played them. So that they are in fact one of the least played classes surprises me.

But if you'd asked me before release, I would also have voted for Charr and Asura on the last spots. But of course the Asura on the last by a wide margin. They are so fugly, I once created one because I really liked their zone and lore, but I couldn't stand looking at it and had to delete it . So I guess there'll be no Asura story for me then...

I have one charr, though, but also only to experience the story, which I find extremly fun, in comparison to the human ones, which are pretty bland in my opinion. Despite their feline appearance they also resemble tauren for me, so that's a bonus, because I was always a tauren fan in WoW.

Then I have three Norn. I LOVE nordic settings! There's nothing better for me. Same reason the zones in WotLK were the best I've ever seen in WoW

And finally my main is a human male Elementalist. And I've another lowbie human mesmer, too.

Well 2 of my 4 current toons are human. My mesmer main (male) and my thief (female) then I have an ausra guardian and a norn ranger. I'll make a char warrior at some point, having too much fun atm lol. I'm thinking sylvari necro or maybe engineer (since I don't think thats a popular choice), I don't really like sylvari, but I want to try them out and see what their story line is like.

The reason I have more humans than other races is they are the best looking, humans and norns are better to look at than a Charr and a Ausra. I would imagine this accounts for the bias in GW2 and that humans obviously relate more to other humans...go figure...

    My charcters are :

    Human Ranger, Necro. Both F.
    Norn Elementalist. F.
    Ausra Engineer. M.
Charr Warrior. M. I also set out with the intent of making him as ugly as possible...lol.

I share my account with my wife and daughter. We have 10 characters total :

    1 asura
    2 humans
    3 sylvaris
    4 norns

I really want to create a Charr, but armor just looks weird on them. Warrior would be nice, but i already have two lol...

I don't really wanna state the obvious, but I don't think it's a point of people wanting to play Human over the others. It's playing a human FEMALE over the others. Some are going to come all wrong about this, but step back, take stock and you'll see that female humans are probably on a 3/1 if not 4/1 ratio with toons.

You can't really blame it either. Arenanet did a really good job at visuals on them and I'm not just talking skimpy...I honestly don't like my females skimpy, but they run, fight, cast, stand really cool. I had a male, but he hunches when he runs and looks like an idiot doing it. I can't take that for 80 levels, like as Vayne stated it's hard to watch Charr run for 80 levels.

I personally am looking at the back of my toon 90% of the time. I need to like what I'm looking at. As does everyone else. Sure they'll be exceptions. I'm sure a few post after this will be . But seriously, look at the options, they gave us the most with Females, human specifically. It's retarded really.

What about Mules though? I feel like Human is the template race, especially if you're not going to use it. It makes sense that human is the highest right now. But I know I will be making a human engineer, and if that goes well I will probably stick with that. Asura is probably one of the most interesting classes and Charr is probably one of my favorites aesthetically, but I don't want to play as an Asura or a Charr, I want to play as a Male Human because that best represents what I want to achieve in making my own character.
