New GW2 player need help
Hey guys I just got GW2 and so far it has been such a fun game to play. However currently i am level 6 in a level 10 mission, and i just cant do anything to level up quick. My friend said that i should go to the hearts on the map, and do the side quests. Is that the fastest way?
P.S. : where do people get all the cool signatures?

The personal story was never meant to be completed one after the other. You'll almost always have to level after a mission, unless you do a lot of leveling and come back after a lot of leveling and do a bunch of them in a row.
In my experience, those who rush to level fast in this game generally tend to like the game less than those that take their time. That said, personal story, dynamic events (not hearts) and dungeons when you get to level 30 are the fastest way to level.
But don't be surprised if you speed level through the game and end up thinking that there's nothing to do. In most MMOs the game doesn't start till you hit max level. Guild Wars 2 isn't built that way.

I agree with Vayne... there is a lot to do at your level... do the Renown Hearts, visit and explore all the cities, participate in Dynamic Events (or discover and trigger them yourself, while enjoying the little stories associated with many of them), complete the map (get all skill points, points of interests, vistas and renown hearts), or even do some crafting. You can even visit other starter zones and play through all the content there.
Especially don't neglect the Dynamic Events (not the Renown Hearts), as they are the main 'quest' content of this game.
If you focus on that, then leveling will go automatically, and you will quickly outlevel the zones you're in (don't worry though, GW2 uses a sidekicking system to level you back down to the max level permitted for every zone, so that you can continue to play wherever you want and the content will remain interesting).
In fact, you will probably be level 80 long before you have played through all the content. And while leveling up, once in a while you can do a step of your personal story missions as well, when you're at the right level.
As Vayne said... the game is much more fun if you focus on the content instead of on the leveling. If you rush to level 80 and skip a lot of the content, then you may be disappointed about the lack of "additional" content when you get there.
And with regard to signatures... some people are quite creative themselves (or have creative friends), but there are also some signature generators out there that you can use... see for example this thread. Or you can use some pregenerated signature images (for example from here or from here) and create your own signature with those...

WvW is a pretty quick way to level up. Pretty much everything you do in there is a dynamic event.

On my first character, I did not do map completions (except Orr) and stayed in the human zones. I was always about even level with the heart quests, which made it fun and more challenging. I prefer not to outlevel zones because then its too easy. I am now playing my alt and its been fun as well. I am trying different race zones that I did not play in on my main.
WvW is super fun and farily quick leveling. However, as a low level player you will be far far behind the money game if you level in WvW. You miss half the loot bags and players are harder to kill than mobs and you dont get nearly as many kills. In addition, you are frequently repairing your armor which costs alot. That said, I love WvW and go there 5 nights a week.

Want to level lightening quick, crafting. It's faster than WvW but also, no loot and other stuff you gain from doing traditional leveling.
Best is just to do it it all, hearts, explore, crafting and WvW.
