    Help/suggestion needed

I want to experiment with first person shooter as an alternative from GW2 (dont want to overplay it) what First person shooter out there can you recommend?, I like sci-fiction types of games.

I have never play FPS before.

    multiplayer or single player?
i can recommend team fortress 2 for multiplayer one and it is f2p with coop or team vs team. It has quite variety of classes to play and they have different weapon choices (though you need to get them by drop or craft or some are available trough achievments.) It also has training mode and offline with bots.

from single player games , i am not that much fps fan but bioshocks (sci-fi) have been fun , half-life 1&2 are classics jedi academy is good too.

For the PC or for Consoles?

Well.. either way I would suggest Borderlands or Borderlands 2. Fun FPS with RPG elements to it. I played the first and it was a lot of fun. Plus you can play solo or have others join you (the first had up to 4).

Battlefield 3 is a lot of fun. I played that on PS3 and loved it. It helped to drag me away from the monstrosity that is COD. The PC version of Battlefield 3 is much more epic as it has 64 player warzones. It is not sci-fi though but Borderlands kinda is.

Farcry 3 is coming out soon or already has and that looked pretty epic. Killzone is a good sci-fi shooter and of course there is the crapfest game they call Halo...

Tribes Ascend is Sci-fi, and it's free. So i'd recommend that. CS:GO has free access this weekend on Steam, although it's not Sci-fi, it is a good game. You can buy it for about £8.

Cool thanks for the tips, a friend recommended Half Life, is that a good one?

Half Life is good. It's old school though. Didn't know if you were looking for old gamers or the newer ones.

I've been meaning to try out a new one that's being released called Ravaged. It looks pretty fun.

Some other I can recommend are Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty (series, though I enjoyed the WWII versions better), Battlefield (series), Doom 3, Far Cry (series, one of my personal favorites), Deus Ex (series) and Left 4 Dead 1 & 2.

Unfortunately I can only play about half of those since I get motion sick very easily.

...another mention, and also cheap as chips now would be the Bioshock games. It's more steampunk than Bladerunner but really, really good.
