    New to Guild Wars 2

Hello, I bought Guild Wars 2 a few hours ago and it's currently patching. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me some tips for starting off? Anything is much appreciated.

First place decide what profession and what race you like best.

Ranger, mesmer, warrior, elementalist etc etc

My advise start with human and go Ranger or Warrior, once you have managed to understand the basics, then run with the other 3 slots you have available (5 slots in total) you can buy more if you want.

You can always start also with Charr/Warrior Human or Norn /Ranger. Easy two professions and easy races

That is a really broad question. I would say...do some googling and see which server you want to play on. I'm not familiar with the PVE gameplay any more but I guess you'll want one with a high PVE pop in lower areas where you will be starting.

Otehr than that, I think early on there is a sticky about this question that maybe Vayne made a while back and hopefuly somebody can provide here. Welcome to the game.

Mayitto suggested ranger and warrior and I for example found them insanely boring but I love my elementalist...so if you don't like a profession or two...keep trying other, they can be vastly different. Also try different weapons sets (all of them) because your skills vary based on that which can really change how you play and how you feel about a class.

Do not hurry leveling up, let interest guide you instead of map. Try different things like weapons, skills and so on
