'Pitch' is a good alternative to Black. I used it for quite a few sets and it looked black to me. It's not a rare one either so might be cheap, though I don't ever get it anymore when opening new dyes or forging. Perhaps it's a rare one in disguise. I've bought hundreds of unidentified dyes from tp and gem store, but never had Abyss.
Two weeks ago I fund Abyss. It was a HAPPY DAY, let me assure you! hehe BUT, as much as I wanted to open it and have it for myself I couldn't turn down the nearly six gold that it was worth at the time. lol I think it's gone down since then, but I refuse to buy it unless it drops DRAMATICALLY. Paying more than 2 gold for any dye is insane, IMO (and even two gold is pushing it).Originally Posted by Cariad
Glad I found Pitch and Blue Ice on my thief early on, they're great alternatives. Blue ice is pretty much pure white, just could be a bit brighter. Pitch has a greyness to it, but does the job well. Actually shows detail pretty well because it isn't too dark.
Celestial is a great "white" color and Midnight Blue makes a nice "black".
Ive opened so many dyes and only have like 8-10 rares, no white, no black. So many blues and purples....so Im one very purple elementalist. But I look damn good and really like it so if I get abyss/celestial...of to TP it is.
It's not just me then, I get purple 80% of the time, or brown >.>
