    Guild Wars 2 Lag?

Hey guys I'm in need for some help. My laptop is fast when it comes to exploring internet Its really weird. I will go to task manager and then processes and their will be all this random stuff. I just click close on some of them that I don't need (I just guess which ones I don't need)
Now guild wars 2. It took me around 15 hours to install (with the CD's ) I log on to the game. Put everything on low. (so it looks like I'm playing mine craft) And yet it stills lags. I'm so upset just spent 63$ on this game. (well I'm running 8-fps Depending on what I do) I'm just asking what I need to do to be able to enjoy this game.
I'm not saying high detail (high everything). I'm on a cheap budget. Mom nearly killed me for spending 60$ on a PC game.
So all I'm really wanting is to be able to play the game not lagging so badly.
Thanks for whoever can help me.

Do you know any of your PC's spec like GPU and CPU? You might need to upgrade just one component. Did you check if your computer met the minimum requirements before you bought the game? Its a brad new game so its going to require fairly up to date specs.

Once we have more info to determine if your computer meets minimum specs then maybe people can try to help out. If it doesnt meet them, you're probably SOL. If it does, than you might have some malware or some other processes runing concurrently that can probably be turned off but it might be too early to talk about that.

A lot of laptops have really weak graphics card. Zhese don't affect things like internet surfing, but playing modern games is a totally other matter. So look up your laptop's specifications and look if you meet the minimum criteria of the game.

Sorry to hear about your performance issues - Im going to be frank. The specs on that laptop are way below minimum requirements for this game. And generally, unless you have the means to spend $2000+ on a gaming laptop, you wont be able to play much of anything. You could build (or have someone else build) you a gaming computer. If the PC is designed mindfully, you can have a powerful gaming computer for 600$-800$ . And then you can always upgrade in the future.

    - But your two main problems are the CPU and GPU.

Good luck to you, and please respond with any questions.

Unfortunately I have to agree with polym0rphi. Your laptop isn't really capable of running Guild Wars 2 at decent frame-rates. I recommend building, or having someone else build you a nice gaming desktop. The way prices are these days you can get a decent system for fairly cheap. Let us know if that's what you want to do and we can help you pick out some parts.

Darn. Thanks again for the reply.
And Santa is bringing me a four wheeler lol.

Thing is i cant upgrade this labtop friend gave it to me. I would have to sent it back to the manufacture and get pieces built on to it. That would just cost to much. Labtop is not in good enough condition to just blow 400$ on.
What would you think about this computer.

If its not to much to ask. Can you guys explain to me what to look for when im Gaming. I researched online and i just cant understand.
    Thanks.
Also idk how to work on computers so i really cant build one. Unless i buy a computer send it back 20$ tell them pieces i want. The labor would be more then the pieces would. As i said before i'm not trying to play on all high. Cause my internet speed is broadband and i just no that isn't happening . Medium would be fine for me.. At least so i can play this game. Sucks if i new my computer was gonna be ruining like this i could a saved 60$ and download a free game xD.

The important parts in a CPU to play games are the processor (CPU) and the graphics card (GPU). Both Intel and AMD have started making CPUs that have a decent GPU built right in. Normally, your graphics card is a separate item that exists in the tower (or somewhere in the laptop body).

You can't send that laptop anywhere to be changed. Traditionally, only a desktop computer can be changed to be upgaded. The parts are too small to be universal in a laptop, so one thing does not fit all. A desktop tower will use standardized parts that are all shaped the same.

How much do you have to put toward a new computer?

  10. #10
Well. I'm not looking to spend much. all i really need is the desktop. No screen speakers ETC.
Im looking to buy from amazon now.
What do you think of this?
