Thread: Guild Wars 2 Lag?

  1. #21
    question =Again ofcourse lol.
    When i run the game on minimum with this garbage labtop. The graphics look like minecraft.
    However when i watch youtube videos people on minimum details looks good? why is that?

    And i assumed the computers i listed would run fast cause its 3+GHZ

    But maybe i learned something GHZ is just the speed? Correct and the graphics card is what i need for better fps on higher Detailed settings

    Btw i see what you mean http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883227437
    The reviews are horrible kinda concerns me but 7750Hd with 3.6GHZ I would be able to rune Minimum Details at decent frame rate you think?

    What frame rate does it not lag on in Gw2 like 20-30-40-Etc?

    Options > Display > Render Sampling: Change it from "Subsample" to "Native".

    While playing GW2:

    Open your options (hit escape or whatever), then go to graphics options/display settings (it's the second tab) and change the setting called "Render Sampling" from 'Subsample' to 'Native'. It's rendering frames at a lower resolution than your display making the images look blocky.

    Yep. It'll help everything look a lot less like Minecraft at the very least.

    And I just saw your edit. You don't really get any "lag" in GW2, you'll just want to look for something that can run the game at *stable* (note: not high and not on high settings) framerates. 15 fps is fine as long as it's stable. I've played pretty reaction-intensive games on bad PCs and they don't really get unplayable until you hit somewhere <5-7fps. If you have the skills to build a PC you might be able to throw together a secondhand machine that can equal those $500+ ones for $200-300.

    At the very least you'd be able to build a cheap AMD machine that would be capable of running the game well. You could probably part the psu, motherboard, cpu, cooling, and hardware for $100-150 and then spend another $100+ on a graphics card and slap it all together yourself. That'd be your best bet. I assume you aren't familiar with the process seeing as you're asking here and that's why I added that link, but you can look it up on Wikihow or something and it'd save you a ton of money and give you a much better machine to play with (plus building an AMD machine and tuning it yourself will teach you all about cooling, clock control, voltage control, and tons of other stuff you'd never have to learn if you just spent $300 extra on the same tier Intel lol).

    If you can buy the one for $100 more. The 610 is an extremely weak graphics card and I wouldn't put any faith in it for gaming. For reference I have a MUCH faster old mid-range graphics card that cannot run GW2.

    Ok thanks i will look into that.

    I will prob buy that 1 but if i decided to buy 400$ 1 would any of these cards work?

    You could do that. Buy that one and then upgrade it later when you have the money. I believe the power supply can handle replacing the graphics cards and you'd have a better CPU in the long run. Not sure if you'd have cooling issues.
