Should I buy the digital copy or physical copy?

    Hello folks,

I am interested in buying Guild Wars 2 and I was wondering which copy I should go with. I was wondering if the physical copy comes with a digital copy as well. If so, I would probably just pick up the physical copy then. 25 gb download is pretty big. If i bought the physical copy, I would like to know if i happened to lose my dvds would I be screwed in terms of installing the game on a different computer? Thanks for reading this and I hope to have some answers regarding this. I heard great things about this game!!

I have the digital copy so I could be wrong about this but I tihnk that the physical copy still requires you to download the client so you'll be downloading those 25gb either way. But if Im wrong, hopefully somebody will correct me.

I own hundreds of PC games, about 1/3 of which are digital. I think digital is easier to manage, especially steam, where you can simply download a game to any PC you want. For GW2, you could download the digital version to a flash drive and install it anywhere you like.

I have never eaten a busty shrimp before. What do you taste like? Are you better than a tiger prawn?

Both the physical copy and the digital copy contain a registration key with which you can/need to create an online account. From that online account you can download the installer that will allow you to download/install the game (right now this is ~17GB) to as many computers as you want (but you can only log in to your account and play the game from one of those computers at a time).

If you buy the physical copy, it will contain a couple of disks that will already install most of that game for you. But the installation on those disks is already a couple of months old, so you will still need to download an ~5GB update.
And if you ever lose those disks, you can just log in to your account and download the game again from there.

Just make sure that you never lose your account information (your unique email address and password; make sure you have never used those before anywhere else, because there are hackers at work who use large lists of email addresses/passwords from other games and other websites), or your registration key (you will need that if you ever need to prove that you are indeed the owner of that account).

Thanks for the tip on the hacker incident. Its good to know that the physical copy includes the digital copy so I dont have to e worried about losing my dvds or ruining them. The hacker incident really creeps me out because i heard similar stories about other online accounts. I will definitely create new email and pass just for this game. thanks for the advice. I dont know if I will meet you guys in game but I hope I do. This is my first mmo game and I am excited. thanks guys.
