I have to agree with many of the posters as Thief sounds like it hits on most of your requirements. Though you might have trouble with the "pretty armor" part. As much of the leather armor looks very similar IMO - variations of trench coats. There ARE about 3 or 4 sets of the leather armor that are pretty cool though, but you'd probably want to wait until higher levels to use the skins for those, as some of the skins aren't cheap.

Here are the leather armor sets for GW2. The first one on the list is the one I'm currently using and I love it! As you can see, most of the sets are basically variations of "trench coats" which drove me mad leveling as I got so sick of looking at the coats - until I discovered that some of the nicer looking skins aren't too terribly expensive. I think the most expensive is also the most "reveling" set, the Human Tier 3 - that one is about 119 gold if you want the ENTIRE set ...which I have no idea how anyone could possibly have that much money! heheh I might end up getting the Order of Whispers set eventually.

Try them all out, go to the mists so you can screw around with builds and weapons without having to level.

Personally I think you would really enjoy the 1 hand sword ranger, with maybe some traps to setup combo fields for allies. Ranger has really cool attack animations, it's all about evading attacks. You can pick a ranged pet and ignore it if it really bothers you.

Every class can fill multiple roles. If you find yourself thinking a class is too easy in GW2, then your not playing it to the most potential.

Wait...what? lol So, to you, playing a class "to the most potential" will make a class harder? Wouldn't the opposite be true? :P

The underboob on the Human Cultural T3 set bugs me every time I look at it. I have a human female engineer, and I would have considered going with the cultural armor if not for that awful, tacky, pull-the-damn-shirt-down underboob. (I'm using the Order of Whispers skin instead.)

And yes, OP, do try out a thief! Sounds like a good fit for you.

I think that there are many ways to play each profession and sometimes, playing the easy way gets boring for certain players, so they change their builds intentionally to make it harder, at least in PVe, anyway.

My son plays a thief and he was able to pretty much win any fight with 2 buttons, anywhere at any time, so he changed his build to make it more challenging, because he was bored.

Me, I prefer fights to be easier, because my old bones don't like long, drawn out protracted battles. I prefer to move on and see more of the world.

    Like
    Fast attacks - Thief
    fast movement - Elementalist/Thief
Mixture of ranged and melee - Elementalist
mix of more than one style Eg dps one point healing the next - Elementalist
pretty armor not nessary revealing but pretty good looking - Elementalist
good animations(hate just standing there) - idk

    hates
not too keen on pet classes i can play them but the pets bore me. - Ranger
slow lumbering hulks of things that take ages to kill anything - Everything
ugly armor - Thief, Warrior, Gurdian, Engineer
being pigeon holed into one role all the time - idk
a class thats too simple - Ranger, Thief, maybe Warrior

Sounds to me like you want an Ele, but you will think it sucks until you get good at it. Once you're good at it it's so rewarding. It's great coming first place in the PvP scores so frequently

haha Yep, me too. I'm not exactly a theorycrafter or an optomizer but I do like having builds that are efficient. Purposefully making fights take longer isn't something I could ever see myself doing. It would take too much time away from doing things I find more fun and entertaining.

Welcome to the Club. Your cape is in the mail and mask you can cut from cardboard.
I see their pain. On some level I even understand their pain. I just can't feel their pain.
