How I feel about Orr, what about you?

I have my moments in Orr... I actually started a new char this week cuz i felt my ele and ranger were just too squishy to be able to gather any of the nodes in Orr properly. I started a guardian thinking i had a bit more healing and speed boost and a bit more tank.

I really like how in other maps i can run thru and just do a node gathering run. I dont have to kill anything along the way. In Orr this is not the case. I must clear things out as i go to get to those nodes without getting raped from behind by a hoard of zombies. This is definitely a challange and sometimes its "annoying" but sometimes its fun.

I agree its much better with another person. Just having one more person with you can make all the difference.

I have become quite fond of farming in Orr tho. The Penit/Shelter runs have definitely become one of my favorite things to do. Im a grinder at heart tho. I love to find a spot i can hang out and just kill the same enemies over and over for hours on end. Its relaxing.

I assume this was meant as a joke, but I fail to see the point of such a joke, and I do have to agree with Llunatic that it comes across extremely disrespectful. So I would ask you to please refrain from such kinds of remarks in the future.

True. You can farm the tunnel ends in Orr and receive more Loot in 10 minutes than you can doing the 10-20 minute Arah chain with the chest at the end. It makes no sense.

Pretty much this ^. The level 80 gear grind can be done in 3.5 ways. 1 is karma grinding and then buying from the gods' statues in Orr. 2 is to grind materials and craft. 3 is to grind tokens from explorable dungeons. The .5 is that you can continue any of these using the mystic forge, by grinding more stuff.

It's like WoW in the sense that you get to 80 and you have to grind. The significant difference though, is that you have multiple ways of doing it that are very different and you can do the one you enjoy most.

On my first char, I chose to simply grind Orr events and buy all my gear with gold on the trading post.

ROFL. Yes i know. Im wierd like that. I have loved the grind since my first MMO experience tho. Just one of those habits that die hard. I would much prefer to sit in one spot killing the same 20 mobs for weeks to gain levels than to go out and run map after map.

Dont get me wrong. I dont mind a good explore from time to time. But grinding is my passion.

Engineer is definitely the way to go if you want to farm Orr. Between the perma speed boost, self healing and stun breaks I can take on huge groups of mobs and take them out. I found I can even solo champion mobs as long as they are melee, it takes forever to kill them and isn't really worth the time but it's fun to be able to do so.

I like a bit of a grind too, and I don't mean the type people do in nightclubs!
As ironic as it sounds, it's a great way to meet people. Rather than seeing 100 different people over 100 miles that you forget after you've left the area, you're seeing familiar names and forming regular parties. Then it becomes routine to party with them and suddenly you have new friends! Yay! Running the same dungeon over and over, day in day out, with the same people, you make your cliquey little in-jokes and form bonds... I guess it's like going to work in a shit job and this is the online equivalent of office humour (except you're seeing pretty flashing colours and slaying dragons instead of sending emails and having board meetings or whatever the hell one does in their shit job).

Seriously??? People found this offensive and in any way serious? I have over 500 posts here, anyone really think I'm that persons boy toy? Or that the guy has a temper? How could this post be taken as anything but silly. It wasn't even a joke, it was just a random silly post but for the life of me I always get suprised by the ridiculous things people get offended by.

Yes, clearly that was a serious post, which I made in a effort that her husband find nothing out about me. Such a clever ruse by me. OMG
