Thread: Leveling help? Maybe? I dunno.

Kill stuff between hearts and you should never run into problems with outleveling content even if you only do one zone per level range. If you do tradeskills as well you will find that you struggle to not downlevel just to do one zone per level range. The biggest mistake people seem to make is just running past mobs and heart camping which isn't a very efficient way to level but if you choose to do it that way you might have to do 2 zones per level range.

If you're going to level by killing stuff, in addition to other things, here are three things to remember.

    1. Almost all food in the game gives you 10% bonus experience on kills.
    2. Killing stuff in normal areas, doesn't give you nearly as much bonus experience as going "off road". The longer a creature is in the world, the higher the bonus experience, which is often worth far more than killing the creature itself.
    3. Yellow creatures that don't attack you are often ignored by the player base, so killing them could get you some damned good bonus experience. The other day, I killed something in a later zone and the bonus experience for one creatures was over 800 points...tripling the amount the creature was worth.

I noticed that... killing the docile creatures would every so often give me their 4-6xp plus like 40-60xp while regular creatures were getting me between 6-12xp with few bonus. I wasn't leveling by killing stuff, but still, I found that interesting. I actually ran around various towns getting the waypoints, then did some heart quests to climb my way up to 11, returned to the mission, and took it down. Thanks all for the advice! I'm sure I'll be able to handle this situation in he future... I just had to let go of the GW1 'play the story to level' mindset, lol.

.....Never let modern day travesties harm the memory of greatness.

The longer something is left alive the more bonus XP it will give you.

So true on the bonus xp. Sometimes I just wander around in odd places and I of course usually kill everything I see, and (in lvl 80 areas) I've gotten bonus xp worth over 1000, I think the highest I have seen is 1449, but I don't pay too close attention to xp since, well, I'm lvl 80.
