    Hi!

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. Getting Guild Wars 2 tomorrow! Hurray! I am a complete noob, lol. Never ever played any MMOs. I am a casual gamer, console mostly, grew up with the old school pen and paper RPGs.

I plan on playing every race and profession. Love the exploration aspect and I have a feeling I will probably be knocked on my rear because I am standing in awe looking at everything, either that or falling off cliffs. So yeah, I expect to die a lot. But I am a full believer that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Have a feeling I am gonna be playing for a very long time.

Look forward to running into some of you in Tyria! And of course getting to know you all here as well.

    Regards,
    crowgrrrl

Welcome to the forum, Crow! Have you decided which world you'll be on? That's your first decision you'll need to make. I recommend going with a high population server as it will help you to have people around to do Dynamic Events and what not.

Feel free to browse the forum and ask questions if you can't find what you're looking for!

Welcome to Bedlam! Straight jackets are on the left and meds are on the right...Make yourself comfortable!

There is also a forum where guilds recruit. Be sure to mention the following in the *title* of your thread for a better response: your preferred type of guild (PvE, PvP, RP, etc.), your server and your time zone.

The world is full of pain and sorrow.
Life is fleeting and true moments of joy are few and far between.
Happiness is laced with shards of pain.

Thanks for the welcome Stacy! That is a great idea and exactly what I was thinking. I am hoping to get on Tarnished Coast or Sanctum of Rall since I have heard good things about those worlds. I know there are other good ones so any suggestions would be great.

I have been browsing the forum already and have found so much info it is kinda overwhelming lol but fun. I am so tempted to start with an Elementalist or Mesmer but should probably stick with Ranger as my first character since I am such a newbie lol. I could go Warrior or Guardian but feel more drawn to the others at this point.

TC is the unofficial RP server and chock full of nice people! I should know, I am one of them.

Thanks for the welcome! I haven't even thought that far ahead lol. Excellent info and will be sure to post there when I kinda get the hang of things around Tyria and get settled in my new "home" away from home. Straight jackets and meds, check!

Excellent! Nice to meet you. I enjoy RP sometimes and enjoy watching others engaging in it. It has been a LONG time since my RP days, but I really did have fun RPing with my Half Elf Druid in my D & D days.

Hey there, and welcome to the forums!

I'm an old RPer too (operative word is old lol). Also on Tarnished Coast.

If you're an explorer, you're going to love this game. There's so many cool little details to discover.

Thanks for the welcome, Vayne! I am very much the explorer type. I tend to talk to EVERY NPC that can be talked to and investigate every nook and crannie of whatever game world I am in and pick up everything that can be picked up. Definitely a pack rat of the highest order.

I am the type of player that likes to help others and I am glad that the spirit of cooperation seems to be alive and well in GW 2. I also do not like holding people up or back if I am in a group. Might be looking for a tour guide in the beginning lol or other like minded explorers for small group exploration. I would love to do the dungeons but will not even touch them until levels 30 or 40, or even later because I want to be useful and not a detriment.

As Vayne says for explorers this game is epic; so many details which you'll find out there, you'll love this game in general, it's awesome.
